Description
We have one ensuite bedroom available in our lovely four storey home near to The Oval in Kennington. We are looking for a considerate mature person who needs a room away from home during the week (Monday to Friday or Sunday to Thursday), maybe as an alternative to a hotel or because you prefer the convenience of a serviced room where belongings can be left at weekends.
Our comfortable house has plenty of space including a double drawing room and a large well-equipped kitchen/dining room which extends into a garden room with sofas. There is also a utility room and outside we have a south facing garden with plenty of seating for the summer. We are on a wide leafy road and the back of our garden adjoins the grounds of a landmark church and on the other side our house overlooks the grounds of the vicarage. There is a great community spirit with our neighbours, all mature and considerate.
The area has convenient shops nearby and excellent transport links. The Oval tube station is a seven-minute walk away and is only four tube stops to Charing Cross, so a great location if working in The City, Westminster or Whitehall. We are 100 yds from a main bus route, with multiple buses all going via Vauxhall where you can pick up the Victoria line.
The bedroom is newly refurbished with a very comfortable Vi-Spring bed. Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are supplied and changed weekly by our wonderful housekeeper (who is also happy to do ironing of shirts – this can be arranged directly with her.)
The house is occupied by us and our lodgers (Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Treasury)..
We will provide all breakfast basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, bread, cereals, milk etc. The rent including all bills is £1050/month per room and the room is available from 20th September.
