Description
One lovely small double room available in a creative three-bedroom house in Kennington with a garden.
Move in: End of Feb
Rent: £667 pcm
Bills: currently range between 120 - 180, the lower end is summer months. These bills include a bi-weekly cleaner (we can discuss if we want to keep this) & household necessities which we all contribute to equally.
Deposit: 5 weeks rent and secured in The Deposit Protection Scheme
Us: You'll be living with 2 black women (27 & 28 years old). Tasia is an artist & I work in the arts - we like all things creative. Our house is a liberal, POC & LGBTQ+ friendly household.
Room/House: The room is small, fits a double bed, chest of draws & slim wardrobe but there's a lot of storage in the house - one being opposite the room.
The garden furniture, coffee table and some of the artwork on the walls is from our housemate whose moving out so we can discuss what we would like to replace though between me and Tasia we have a lot of artwork to hang.
We're both out of the house most of the time with Tasia being in her studio & me being in the office (usually 4 days a week) so you can WFH in the living room whenever.
This isn't a party house but of course having the occasional party is cool. We're looking for someone 25+, calm, clean (genuinely) and if you can garden that’s a bonus. Our previous housemate did so we might need to get a gardener every so often to upkeep it.
As far as landlords go he is ok, questionable but he gets things done quickly. It's his childhood home so he's keen to maintain it.
Location: The house is 2 mins from Kennington Tube station, on a quiet pedestrian street and the neighbours are friendly. We are 5 mins from Kennington park and an easy walking distance to supermarkets and East Street Market (a food market).
Accessibility: there is one step into the front door. The kitchen, living room and garden are on this floor. The bedroom is upstairs two flights of stairs which is 13 stairs. The bathroom is on the same floor as the bedroom. There is no lift and no intercom.
Viewings: We are having viewings on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th Feb from 6 - 8.30pm. If this doesn't work for you let me know. If you're interested, message me a bio about yourself with an honest detail about yourself as a housemate.
References: The landlord will run a reference check from the previous landlord/accommodation before you sign the lease.
Sorry no couples, people with kids (due to space) or students (because of the council tax).
