Description
We have a spacious double bedroom available for the whole month of October.
We are flexible if someone needs to get in a few days before or leave a few days later (just let us know how long). No deposit or references are required.
Here’s a breakdown:
**ABOUT THE HOUSE**
A three-bedroom house with one spacious living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms…. One of which will be shared with the other girl staying in one of the rooms. The good news is that the house won't be crowded, as my wife and I will be out for the whole month of October, so it will just be two people at the flat for the duration.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing/drying machine, dishwasher, microwave, blending machine, and more…
The living room has a 55-inch screen, with PS5 and cable TV. Our broadband is 500 MB. The living room also has a Sofa bed in case we get any extra visitors (but we already have a spare room for that).
All windows are double-glazed and the house is fully gas-heated.
The owners of the house are a couple who also act as our landlords. They are incredibly responsive and super nice. We never had any issues with them in the many years we’ve been living in the house.
**ABOUT THE ROOM**
The room has a double-sized bed and a spacious built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space. As said before, heated and with double-glazed windows, equipped with blackout.
It has plenty of natural light, but is probably the coolest room in the house during summer days.
**ABOUT THE AREA**
The house is a 3-minute walk from Kensal Green station in northwest London on the Bakerloo and Overground lines. You also have Kensal Rise overground station in just under 10 minutes.
It's in a residential area, slightly off the main road, meaning you don’t get any noise. It is also very safe to walk around at any given point. My partner has always made a point to stress the importance of living in a safe area.
A Tesco Express is located 5 minutes from the house. There’s also a massive Sainsbury's / Argos just under a 10-minute walk, plus a 24/7 gym (Anytime Fitness) and a Sports Leisure Centre with a swimming pool. Just next to it is a dry cleaning store if needed.
We are also just under 15 minutes from Ladbroke Grove, where you will find a variety of nice restaurants, bars and cafes, including our personal favourite Portuguese pastry shop "Lisboa".
Notting Hill, one of London's most iconic areas, is also just a 25-minute walk from our place.
Deliveroo and Uber Eats options are also very good… We personally love Sacro Cuore (sourdough pizza), Cinquecento Pizzeria, Meat Liquor, Beer & Burger, Five Guys and the local Indian restaurant.
The biggest assets in the area are Lexi (an independent cinema), Parlour (a restaurant known for brunches and Sunday roast), Bel & Nev (a cute small spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch), Vickie's and last - but not least - Paradise, the amazing pub/restaurant/nightclub in which the original flatmates decided to make Kensal Green their home.
We have also fallen in love with the (very popular) bakery "Layla".
**ABOUT US**
We (my partner and I) are working professionals in our 30s. My partner is an illustrator/designer, and I am a journalist.
Neither of us will be around, as we are travelling, but our other flatmate, Mariana, will.
She's a Portuguese girl working for the NHS.
We are all very discreet and easy-going.
**ABOUT YOU**
You should be either a responsible master's student or a working professional between the ages of 19 and 50. You are tidy, clean, considerate, with a sense of humour and up for a movie night/glass of wine / cheeky meal.
Ideally, you don’t work full-time from home, but we are flexible on some days.
**ABOUT MONEY & CONTRACT**
The rent is £1000, plus bills, which will come to around an extra £150 that includes: water, gas, electricity, internet and council tax.
Our cleaner (who has worked for us for nearly nine years) is paid separately, bringing it to an extra £40 a month.
She comes in once a week and looks after the entire house, including your room, and irons clothes.
No need for a deposit since it's a short stay, and we won't look into changing contracts for bills.
Any other follow-up questions, please get in touch!
