Description
**INTRO**
We are hoping to rent one of the bedrooms in our home temporarily. We are prioritizing people who can start on January 1st and stay until the end of April, but we are flexible with dates going both ways, and we might be able to potentially extend a couple of more months.
Here’s a breakdown:
**ABOUT THE HOUSE**
Three bedroom house, with one spacious living room, kitchen and two bathrooms…. One of which will be yours to use on your own - except when we have visitors over for dinner and such.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing/drying machine and a dishwasher, microwave, blending machine, and so on…
The living room has a 55-inch screen, with PS5 (Duarte loves a round of FIFA) and cable TV. Our broadband is 500 MB. The living room also has a Sofa bed in case we get any visitors (but we also have one spare room for that).
All windows are double glazed and the house is fully gas-heated.
The owners of the house are a couple, who also act as our landlords. They are incredibly responsive and super nice. We never had any issues with them in the four years we’ve been living in the house.
**ABOUT THE ROOM**
The room has a double-sized bed and a spacious built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage space. As said before, heated and with double-glazed windows - equipped with blackouts.
**ABOUT THE AREA**
The house is a 3-minute walk from Kensal Green station, which is in northwest London on the Bakerloo and Overground lines. You also have Kensal Rise overground station in just under 10 minutes.
It's situated in a residential area, slightly off the main road, meaning you don’t get any noise and its very safe (my wife will confirm the same).
A Tesco Express is located 5 minutes away from the house… there’s also a massive Sainsbury / Argos just under a 10m walk plus a 24/7 gym (Anytime Fitness) and a Sports Leisure Center with swimming pool. Just next to it there’s a dry cleaning store if needed.
We are also just under 15m from Ladbroke Grove, where you will find a variety of nice restaurants, bars, and cafes, including our personal favourite Portuguese pastry shop "Lisboa".
Notting Hill, one of London's most iconic areas, is also just a 25m walk from our place.
Deliveroo and Uber Eats options are also excellent… we personally love Sacro Cuore (sourdough pizza), Cinquecento Pizzeria, Meat Liquor, Beer & Burger, Five Guys, and the local Indian restaurant.
The biggest assets in the area are the independent cinema (Lexi) and the pub/restaurant/nightclub PARADISE. It was there that the original flatmates decided to make Kensal Green their home.
**ABOUT US**
We (my partner and I) are working professionals in their 30s. My partner is an illustrator/designer and I am a journalist.
Both of us stay in our en-suite bedroom on the second floor of the house (so quite separate).
We are both very discreet and easy-going.
**ABOUT YOU**
You should be either a responsible master's student or a working professional between the ages of 19 and 50.
You are tidy, clean, considerate, with a sense of humour, and up for a movie night/glass of wine / cheeky meal / Fifa round.
Ideally, you don’t work full-time from home, but we understand things have changed since the start of the pandemic, so naturally we are open to a few days from home.
**ABOUT MONEY & CONTRACT**
The rent is 900 + plus bills, which won't go beyond £150 per month.
Bills include council tax, water, gas, electricity and internet.
Out cleaner is paid separately and that comes at about £10 every week per person. She cleans the entire house - including your room - and iron clothes.
No need for a deposit since it's a short stay and we won't look into changing contracts for bills.
If you have any other follow-up questions, please get in touch!
