We have a great room opening up in our Kensal Rise home! Only £1075pm!
My partner and I are heading back to Cape Town from the 11th of November 2024 until May 2025 - 6 months! We are looking for a person or couple to sublet our room for the entire duration.
About the Room:
- This is an en-suite bedroom with views of the garden, a walk-in closet, and a huge downstairs studio/office space.
- We will be moving the majority of our belongings into storage so please ignore all our clothes and stuff on the shelves. The bed, bedding (minus sheets), desks, chairs, and mirror will all be available for you to use though.
- The bedroom has a radiator and a heated towel rack.
- The office space has underfloor heating and a large carpet.
About the House:
- This is a ground-floor semi-detached house with high ceilings and a massive garden. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a huge lounge space, kitchen area, dining space, side-alley bike storage, and a garden shed.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with a toaster, kettle, dishwasher, air fryer, two ovens, fridge/freezer, electric stove and convection fan.
- The dining area has a washing machine, clothes dryer, secondary freezer, and big skylight bringing in lots of natural light.
- The lounge has two large couches, TV, coffee table, and sliding door to the garden.
- There is WiFi throughout the whole house and a bit into the garden.
About Housemates:
- Our housemates are the kindest, most considerate bunch of people who love a board games night, sharing dinner, and hanging out in the garden. They are all vegan, love music, politics, philosophy and psychology. None of them really drink, are clean, cook up a storm, and are super easygoing. They mostly work from home but spend a couple days a week going to the Effective Altruism (EA) offices.
- Thom (32) & Tashi (27) are a lovely couple who both work in the EA charity sector. They have two gorgeous Maine Coon cats called Luna and Sirius who are always looking for a warm lap to curl up on. They love going out in the garden but are only allowed under supervision.
- Aaron (30) is a programmer who is also active in the EA space. His baby is the keyboard in the lounge which you’ll be lucky enough to hear him play sometimes.
About the Area:
- Located a 6min walk from Kensal Green Station (Bakerloo) and 10min walk from Kensal Rise Station (Overground).
- There are a number of parks and green spaces located nearby.
- Several corner shops, a health food shop, and a Tesco within walking distance. Mega Sainsbury’s a bit further walk away.
About You:
- We are looking for an individual or couple to stay the entire 6 months we are away from November 12th until May 12th.
- No preference on gender, but ages 25-35 are preferred.
- Loves cats and feels they can easily slot into our amazing home while we are away!
Costs:
- Rent is £1075pm excluding bills which usually come out to about £60-100pm (wifi, water, electricity, gas, council tax)
- Our landlord is literally the best person in the world and helps us out whenever we need it. He’s friendly, communicative and is fully onboard with this sublet.
- There is a subletting contract and small deposit.
