Description
Hi, I’m Becky and I’ve got a double bedroom going in my lovely house. I’ve lived here for 17 years and it’s a happy, artistic home.
I am taking a three-month sabbatical and going to New Zealand and looking to rent my room while I am away.
My flights are 17th January - 30th March 2025, (10 weeks) but there is a bit of flexibility on those dates as I could stay with my parents or friends a few days either side.
The rent is £1,200 a month all inclusive, pro-rata for any weeks wanted.
I've spent the past six years doing the house up and each room has been decorated to a high standard and has electric underfloor heating with its own temperature control.
I have a long term lodge living here called Darrian. He's 30 and is gay. He's adorable, and I recommend him highly as a housemate. He's a local geography teacher and sings in a choir, and is in a theatre group in his spare time. He's also a budding drag queen. This is a LGBTQ+ friendly household :)
The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac with lovely neighbours. It’s got a garden and a large open-plan kitchen/dinner/office. As you can see from the photos, I have a baby grand piano (Yamaha C1) and I like it being played; very happy to hear from musicians or music folk who would like a piano to play.
We have a three-year-old calm and gentle cat called Ziggy who loves chin scratches.
The open-plan space also has an office/arts area with a desk and printer. This is a lovely multi-use space with the bi-fold doors opening all the way across from this area into the garden. There is a new boiler, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer etc. New double glazing throughout. It’s a warm and comfortable house.
Downstairs continues with a snug living room and working gas fire, perfect for cosy evenings in.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms; the one for rent is the front one with the white sheets. Darrian has the back bedroom.
The room is fully furnished. It has built-in wardrobes, bedside tables, lamps and a dressing table. There is a king sized sleigh bed and a new excellent mattress. The room comes with a duvet, sheets, pillows and plants. There is a bathroom close by and a separate downstairs loo.
All the bills include; council tax, gas, electricity, water, broadband, Netflix, a cleaner, a gardener, a window cleaner, milk delivery and basic sharing items (loo roll, cleaning products, tea/coffee etc). We have fast internet and an ethical renewable energy supplier. Basically, I've taken care of all the adulting; you just need to rock up and enjoy living here.
Feel free to call or email, I am doing viewings now. I look forward to hearing from you! Happy to do zoom chats.
The room is available from mid-January, but could be available sooner if needed, I'm flexible when the start date is.
Darrian is buying his own flat, and so will be moving out when I return, so if you like the house, there is the possibility of staying in the other bedroom when I return.
