Description

Hi everyone,

I’m Suzanne, a 33 year old Australian who has been living in London for 3 years now.

THE APARTMENT
I’ll cut to the chase: the place is amazing! It's a penthouse apartment in a converted warehouse consisting of a duplex with high ceilings, 2 bedrooms each with their own ensuite (with bath) and the best (private) terrace I've personally seen in London (bigger than most living rooms!). It’s a 4 minute walk to Brondesbury overground station and 8 minutes to Kilburn station, as well as all the amenities of the Kilburn High road (Aldi, TKMaxx, Argos etc). Due to the double glazing of the windows and the fact that it's rather high up, it's also somehow quiet, even on the terrace. There's a tonne of skylights so the apartment feels light and airy and just downright cool. There's 95 sqm of internal living space. With the terrace on top there's a huge amount of space for 2 people. The Council tax band is C. I’m not sure how much bills will cost yet, but I’m going to assume around £150 - £200 each per month, depending on the season.

THE BEDROOM
The bedroom on offer is absolutely massive. You could just about fit 2 double-sized beds in there if you wanted, so plenty of room to work from home. It has floorboards, built in wardrobes, 2 huge windows, a family-sized bathroom and a sense of privacy, all of which are a luxury in London!

AVAILABILITY/VIEWINGS/CONTRACT LENGTH
The apartment is available from Saturday 13 April, and I will most likely hold 2 sets of viewings. 1) On the afternoon of Friday 5th April, via the agent (TBC), and 2) On Sunday 14th April, after I move in. Preference will be given to someone who can move in/take the room from Saturday 13 April, but I do want to find the right person to live with as the contract is for 14 months with no break clause. I am looking for someone who is willing and able to commit to that length of time. You will need to pass agency checks.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m a tax lawyer by profession, I love dancing (bachata mostly), reading and travelling. I am a great listener and I love deep and meaningful chats, self development, learning, meeting people and getting the most out of life.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR IN A FLATMATE
I know it's super tough to find a place to live, and I struggled a lot to find this place myself. The room is so lovely that I will be flooded with messages, so please tell me about yourself, your likely move-in date and why you think we would get along when you contact me as I can’t return all messages. Sorry, no pets allowed as I’m sadly allergic.

I’ve had amazing experiences living with housemates before, and I’ll be honest: I’m looking for not only a new flatmate, but someone I could consider a friend. So please only apply if you think we’ll actually get along.

I’m looking for a flatmate who is interesting, considerate and communicates well. I’m a positive, very clean and tidy person and I always pull my weight when it comes to running a household, so I expect you to as well. In terms of visitors, I would say I'm open to having partners stay over up to 2 nights a week, but any more than that and I'll feel like I'm living with them, which is not the agreement! I would like us to both be able to enjoy this fantastic space for entertaining, but always subject to us agreeing first and respecting each other's timetables etc. Having said all that, I’m looking forward to having fun together! Hopefully some yoga on the terrace and the odd dinner together are in the pipeline. ☺️

Thanks and best of luck with your searches!
