Description
Two of my flat mates are moving out so there will soon be two rooms available in our flat. The bigger room will be available from end of March/early April because the flatmate who lived there is moving abroad. My other flatmate is buying a flat but we don’t know the exact timings yet. The room might be available anytime from February 1st through to May. If you’re interested in the smaller room and don’t need to move on a specific date, let me know and we can discuss!
The flat is a maisonette in a great location. We’re 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross station and 10 minutes walk from Coal Drops Yard and Regent’s Canal where there are loads of great restaurants, shops and weekly markets. There’s a Tesco 2 minutes down the road from us and a Sainsbury’s round the corner.
The bathroom was redecorated two years ago and the shower is currently being refitted but that will be done by the time you move in. The kitchen is a little cramped so we don’t tend to cook at the same time, although it’s where we usually sit and talk as we don’t have a living room. The pictures are from last year and we’ve added a new shelving unit since then so there’s more storage space now. The kitchen leads to the ‘balcony’ which is where the shop below sticks out. You can climb out the window to sit there in the summer although there are a lot of plants in the way at the moment!
Room 1 is quite small but I’ve lived in there before and found it nice to live in. There’s a double bed and the wardrobe is deceptively spacious. You can fit a small shelving unit inside it if you want more shelving space. There’s also a bookshelf on the landing that is solely for your use. The other furniture is a desk with drawers, chair, and chest of drawers. The bed has been updated since the pictures were taken and is now a bed frame with storage space underneath.
Room 2 is bigger. The wardrobe is really big and has lots of storage space on top as well. The two white shelving units in the picture aren’t part of the room and the chair will be different but everything else comes with the room.
We have a cleaner who comes every two weeks (£25.20 per person per month), council tax is just under £50 per person, and the bills vary throughout the year but, as an example, in October the water, energy and WiFi bills came to £68 per person. This all gets organised through Splitwise.
About me:
Sara (she/her) - I work for an arts organisation at Somerset house. I usually work from home 3 days per week. I also co-run the queer book club at Housmans bookshop which is 2 minutes down the road. I keep lots of plants on the balcony. I enjoy drawing, Doctor Who, and board games. I’m vegetarian but I don’t mind if you’re not!
