Description
If anyone is interested, then please read the whole advert and then message me with a brief description of your intererst in the room. An online viewing can be arranged where you can see the house and we can learn a bit about each other prior to any in-person meeting.
This ad is for a newly built en suite loft apartment with kitchenette for £1,100 plus bills. There is potential flexibility in price for a particularly good match, described further below.
Coucil tax and broadband bills are included. Electricity, gas, and water will be divided between the occupants each month. The cost of this varies between £35 in summer and upto £75 in winter.
The studio apartment is en suite with its own kitchen and plenty of sound insulation between it and the lower floors. The lodger will still have access to facilities on the other floors (washing machine, bath, garden etc). Therefore, other than a shared entry and washing machine, they have as much independence as they want but are still welcome to socialise.
We have a front and back garden which tenants are welcome to spend time in. The front "garden" faces the road and has off-street parking. The back garden is quiet. We tend the gardens and grow alot of vegetables and some ornamental plants which a tenant would be welcome to join in with.
There are bus stops less than a minute's walk from the house that go to Kingsbury and Colindale stations which take about 10 minutes by bus or 20 minutes walking. We are a 10-15 minute walk from two high-streets, five supermarkets, a gym, and numerous smaller markets, restaurants, pubs, and shops (but far away enough to not have the noise).
We are also close to multiple large parks and a small lake.
Ideally, we're looking for a tenant who is clean, tidy, quiet, conscientious, and interested in casual friendship (occasional meals and activities together) but who is self-sufficient and independent. Though, a tenant that values privacy and solitude is also fine.
I may be able to offer a discount for lodgers that are willing to contribute to home maintenance; cooking, cleaning (beyond basic shared responsibilities), gardening, occasional child-care, etc. But these would be entirely optional.
About us:
My name is Michael and I'm a self-employed science teacher and home DIY-er. Mibun is a yoga teacher. Lucy is a 3 year old child who is quite well behaved and loves riding her bike and listening to music. Walls are solid, floors are insulated, and the fire doors are thick and dense so noise doesn't travel much.
When we have the time, we enjoy hiking and cycling in nature, watching reality programmes (history, nature, philosophy etc), gardening, and board games. I, Michael, also like computer and table-top roleplaying games and a good beer or spirit while Mibun enjoys cooking and a bit of gardening.
There are two other tenants in the house, an electrician and a economics graduate turned handy-man.
