Description
Hey, Isabella and I (middle and left in the photo) are looking for someone to become our third housemate when our friend Maeve leaves for her year abroad at the end of June. We met in first year and found this flat together for second year. We've loved living here so much that we want to stay on and welcome someone new for the year ahead!
We’re both studying at LSE, meaning we often have intense schedules and are at uni most of the week but we’re also fun, sociable, and would love our new housemate to become a good friend too - someone who might at least try to fill the Maeve-shaped hole being left behind! The flat has a really warm, easy-going atmosphere. As much as we love ending up in the kitchen chatting or cooking for hours, we’re also very respectful of each other’s space and alone time and the layout of the house works very well in achieving that balance. Neither of us are from London originally, so we sometimes go home to visit family, but we’ll both be around a lot over the summer before the new academic year in September.
The property is a maisonette (top two floors of a three-storey house), with my room and the available room upstairs, and Isabella’s room on the floor with the kitchen, bathroom and living room. The available room is a bright, double room at the back of the house overlooking gardens - it honestly doesn’t feel like central London. It’s furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, chest of drawers, and has its own basin. Shared areas are spacious: the living room has a vaulted ceiling, Velux windows, and double doors leading to a balcony that gets loads of sun and looks out onto greenery.
The location has really been perfect - walking distance to LSE (and other nearby unis), right next to the Imperial War Museum and its surrounding park, 5 minutes to Lambeth North and 10 minutes in either direction to Waterloo and E&C along with their many shops, cafes, bars and green spaces. But despite this fairly central and well-connected location, the street is residential and has always felt like a very safe and quiet area. The landlords have also been super nice and helpful and another reason we want to continue living here.
We’re open-minded about who joins us, but generally, we’re looking for someone similar in age, maybe a fellow student or a young professional, of course a respectful, clean and tidy person who likewise will be busy with work in the week but is down to have fun - whether that be playing tennis in the local park, watching a movie in the living room, cooking or baking in the kitchen, dancing on a Friday night or exploring London in any other capacity!
If the room (and the two of us) looks good to you, feel free to get in touch or ask any questions :)
