Description

Hi, I’m Ed! I’m a professional that works outside of London during the week, and have recently moved in and had this flat refurbished. I’m looking for a lodger - and they’ll have the place to themselves the vast majority of the time!

Whitgift House is one of only three blocks in this small estate, situated on its own next to the delightful Old Paradise Gardens. Located just behind the Fire Brigade HQ, it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the river embankment overlooking the Houses of Parliament.

The block is a characterful 1930s building, well maintained and super quiet - it’s really tucked away from other residential or bustling office buildings. The flat is a spacious and light filled 3-bed - one of the rooms is used as a study (which you would also be welcome to use) so I’m only looking for one lodger. The room on offer features a full double bed, and comes fully furnished.

The location is ideal for anyone working in Westminster, being only a 20 minute walk from Whitehall. It’s also situated in the middle of a load of tube lines, nearest for each listed:

- Vauxhall (Victoria, National Rail): 10-15 mins
- Lambeth North (Bakerloo): 10-15 mins
- Kennington (Northern): 15-20 mins
- Westminster (Circle, District, Jubilee): 15-20 mins
- Waterloo (Waterloo and City): 20-25 mins

If you drive, you’ll be able to get a residents permit for the car park for less than £60 per year. There is also a locked bike rack available.

The local area is blessed with a number of great amenities within 5 minutes walk - including convenience shops (Tesco Superstore also nearby on Kennington Lane), a lovely independent coffee shop, and great pubs (The Jolly Gardeners, Thamesis Dock, etc.). It’s also close to Vauxhall, which has great nightlife options. And of course, get free access to the Garden Museum as a neighbour member.

As mentioned, I’m out of London most weeks Mon-Thurs/Fri, and then back at the weekends. Other than that, it’d just be you in the flat most of time, so would be helpful to have someone able to keep an eye on things while I’m away. I’m pretty laid back, like keeping things tidy, and have a keen interest in the arts!

£1300 pcm, with one month’s rent as a deposit. All bills including fibre optic broadband included.

If you’re interested, feel free to drop me a message, and we can meet for a coffee nearby!
