Description
My current housemate (and longtime friend) is moving out in early January to live with boyfriend - sad to see her go, but it means there’s a double room available in our Clapham flat.
Location:
• 10–15 min walk to Clapham Junction
• 5 min walk to Clapham Common
• Clapham North tube is about 25 mins on foot or quicker by bus
• We're just off Lavender Hill on a quiet residential street – minimal noise apart from the occasional plane overhead (which stops overnight)
• On street parking is available on the same street, plenty of space. Parking permit required through council.
I have already negotiated a rent freeze with the landlord for 2026 who is very friendly and responsive to any issues.
Me and my existing flatmate pay around £200 each a month into a shared account that covers all bills, council tax, cleaning (twice a month), broadband and bulk buying shared amenities like toilet roll.
I work as a software consultant and will be working from home primarily in the Spring. From then onwards will be a mix of wfh and traveling away. I wfh in my bedroom but there is a separate desk space in the living room which my existing flatmate uses to wfh occasionally. I don't tend to use the living room during the day so it's effectivity a private room that can be used for working if that's what is required in a wfh setup.
Tons of shops nearby - big Asda and post office 10 min walk away. M&S food, little Waitrose, Sainsbury local and small Tesco all within 15 min walking distance. Corner shop 2 mins away. Clapham Junction Highstreet 10 mins away.
Also some good gym options and plenty of bus routes a couple of mins walk from the flat.
Looking for someone chilled (guy or gal), clean, respectful, and not too noisy. My hobbies include going to the gym, running and going to festivals. Have only lived in London for a year so still keen to explore more of what the city has to offer.
My girlfriend stays over 1–2 nights a week and I sometimes stay at hers – totally cool if you have a similar arrangement.
