Hello people!
My name is Omar and I am the co-owner of a beautiful flat in Leyton. I am looking for someone to take over my room as I am moving back to my home country for family reasons.
A bit about the house first.
Myself and co-owner Alex purchased this property 2 years ago and have lived here since, making ourselves a cosy and comfortable home that we care deeply about. The property is a 2 double bedroom ground floor flat with a private garden, within a 3 storey house.
Our home consists of:
- 2 double bedrooms
- Shared living room
- 1 bathroom
- 1 kitchen
- Front garden patch
- Private spacious garden at the back
Your perspective room is furnished and includes a queen-sized bed with built-in storage, a large wardrobe, additional shelving and a garden-facing window.
The living room is sunny, spacious and faces our front garden patch. The room includes a working fire place, a large flat screen TV with a connection to the most popular streaming services, vintage furniture and plants galore. The bathroom is large and includes a bath/shower and a toilet. The kitchen, which leads to the garden, has a gas stove and all the necessary white goods. Last but not least, our beautiful garden, where you'll find a working BBQ, a fire pit, a mosaic-tiled table and seating area, boxes to grow vegetables/fruit (currently tomatoes, courgettes, strawberries, chillies), and various flower patches. The shed at the back currently functions as a storage area but it has power provision so can be used as a workshop.
A bit about your perspective housemates:
- Alex (she/her) is in her thirties, works as a creative in advertising, is very handy with plants, loves a giggle, and knows everything about the cool local bars, restaurants, live music venues and charity shops. Alex works from home 3-4 days a week.
- Jack (he/him), also in his thirties, is Alex's partner and they share a bedroom. He's a jazz musician and also a handyman/electrician. As capable with a guitar as with a drill, he's a man of many talents and also has a heart of gold. Jack usually works away from home.
- Molly and Major: our two perfect cats and pillars of the household. Both super friendly, playful and partial to evening sessions on your lap, especially if TV watching is involved.
(As we already have two cats in the household, we cannot accept more pets unfortunately).
Vibe check:
Our household is 420 friendly with a live-and-let-live vibe, and always respectful of each other. We are queer/BIPOC friendly and we are pro-watermelon people. We usually hang out together in the living room in the evenings but also like to have our me-time in our bedrooms. We bring a cleaner in once every 3-4 weeks to make sure the house stays in a nice, clean condition.
I would love for my room to go to a nice, cool person that will fit well with my amazing housemates and will take care of the place. Unless major changes in circumstance, I will be living abroad with no plans to return to London, so I would prefer people who can commit to long term stays (1 year +).
