Hello!
We’re looking for a new housemate to join our garden flat in Bethnal Green. The room is available from mid-late January 2025.
This flat is rented directly from a landlord so there’s no agency involved.
A bit about the room
The room is the largest in the flat and has a big double bed, fitted wardrobes, a chest of drawers, space for a desk and looks on to the garden.
A bit about the flat
The flat is on the ground floor of a block in Bethnal Green (5 minutes from both Bethnal Green and Stepney Green tube stations). It’s a 15 minute walk to Victoria Park and Columbia Road Flower Market.
There’s a kitchen with everything you’d expect and a washer/dryer and dishwasher.
The living room has a dining table and doors out to the garden. There’s 1GB broadband (200-250mb in the bedrooms so good for working from home) as well as a TV with Apple TV.
It’s a homely space for socialising and relaxing. The garden is good to have in the summer - plus points for anyone who’s green thumbed!
Brett (44) and Harry (30) have both lived in the flat since 2015. Brett works for HS2 and Harry works at Central Saint Martins. Both of us work hybrid so are at home some days and in the office others. We’re looking for someone nice and chilled. And preferably someone who’s LGBT+.
We are both pretty chilled out, and so that's the way the house is. There's not a list of chores on the kitchen wall, but we both know when the dishwasher needs emptied and the recycling taken out.
The sort of housemate we’re looking for
I’ll try to avoid the SpareRoom clichés here... in a nutshell, we’re looking for a friendly, easy-going and trustworthy housemate.
The occasional house movie and takeaway would be great, but it’s also good for everyone to live their own lives.
The room is available now from mid-January and there’s some flex on move in date.

Rent is £840 a month
The household bills are around £100 a month, including:
- Council tax
- Water
- Gas/electricity (with a renewable energy supplier)
- TV licence
- Fibre-optic internet
The deposit is £840.
No agency fees.
