E14 Double Room - Langdon Park DLR (Zone 2)

My lovely housemate Dan is moving onto trendy pastures anew in Hackney, so I'm looking for someone fun, fab and fresh to take over his room when he leaves at the end of September (roughly 29th).

I'd like someone who's willing to commit to either a 11 or 12 month term (i. e. to bring us to the end of August 2027, or September 2027). Rent is £1020 pcm, with approx £120 pcm bills (council tax band C). Deposit is 5 weeks rent (£1176.92). The place comes largely furnished (my friend will be taking away a few pieces from the living room, but this means we can do a bit of interior design together so things are looking cool and as we like!) The landlord would need proof of employment, or a guarantor; they don’t accept housing benefits unfortunately!

I've had an amazing first year in London so far, and I am looking forward to the next with a lovely new house mate (and, I hope, friend). I'm a 24 year old gay guy, grew up in scary Birmingham (so fair if the accent is a dealbreaker), I'm a commercial barrister and so will be in chambers in central most of the time (i. e. some mix of both of us working from home at certain points should work).

My weeks can get busy with work, but I'm always down to binge watch some tv over a few glasses of wine (I think I've watched Amandaland at least 5 times over), try out a class together (so I can show you my diabolical artistic ability), and I'd happily drag you along to the team I play football with on Thursday evenings (if that's your kinda thing!)

On the weekends, I'm trying to diversify how I spend my time: small city escapes, co-hosting dinner parties between different groups of friends, and trying to experience more of what London has to offer! I do love a party/event (but love sleep too), and so in terms of the flat, think more 'fun pres' as opposed to 'afters that never ends'.

I'm hoping to find another FUN-LOVING, KIND and FUNNY housemate. Those who will not enjoy lashing out criticism at an episode of Alex Polizzi's 'The Hotel Inspector', for example, need not apply.*

Regarding accessibility of the flat itself, it’s all on one floor - there’s an open plan living room/kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a shared bathroom. It’s on the first floor (up 10 steps, no lift) in a building with 5 flats total. There is a step at the communal door, and a step at the flat’s front door. There is a buzzer, but no intercom. There’s no neighbours on one side, which is good re noise! Entry to the flat is via keys. The flat is not fragrance free.

The flat is super close to Langdon Park DLR station in Zone 2 (3-5 min walk), and you can get a 10 minute DLR to both Canary Wharf and Stratford, with great onward connections into Central from both. Also have the option of taking a 3 minute DLR from Langdon Park to Poplar, which offers onward DLRs to both Bank and Tower Gateway. There’s lots of cute canals nearby - which make great running routes. There’s Nisa local (which is surprisingly well stocked) and Sainsburys close by for groceries.
