Description
We have a double room (for single occupancy) coming available in our beautiful warehouse space in Fish Island (Hackney Wick) available from Dec 15th
The room is fairly large, with a build in bed frame and hanging closet. It’s nice and cool in the summer, cosy and warm in the winter, and connects onto our beautiful bright common space, which has three story high ceilings. The room is one of the larger in the house, and has only a window onto the common space.
Rent is £710 per month all-inclusive and covers rent, bills, taxes, wifi, appliance maintenance and toilet paper. An additional amount of approximately £35 is collected internally by the household to cover the cost of a weekly cleaner, and a kitty for cleaning products, cooking oil, and a few other shared essentials.
The warehouse has a beautiful shared common space, with enormous high ceilings and lots of light. All the mod cons, including good central heating, gas cooker, washing machine and tumble drier, a bathroom with full bathtub/shower and a second toilet room. We also have a guest-room for the use of all the house.
We are a very friendly and close collection of kind and caring housemates. We are 9 lovely humans in total. We are a safer spaces, queer/LGBTQIA+ friendly, and diversity driven household. We encourage applications from those over 35 years-of-age, people of colour, non-native British, northerners, DIY enthusiasts, and cooks.
Ours is not a party house, but the parties in the neighbourhood are not hard to find, and we often join in. At home we like to keep things a little more calm and collected. We are a house that likes to cook, and enjoy cooking and eating together - we hope you’ll be up for that!
We also have a projector, and enjoy watching films, sharing a drink or two, or a cup of tea, and providing mutual support, mutual aid, and many giggles. People cook for each other, and clean-up after each other, help each other, look out for each other, and try not to get in each others way (or to leave our mess behind us!).
We are looking for someone who wants to be an active member of the household, taking initiative to help keep the place running smoothly, able to take responsibility for themselves, willing to help their fellow housemates, eager to join in with group meals, and ready for a friendly chat over morning coffee.
Please no couples, no under 25’s, or short-term lets, and no pets. (Sorry, we have housemates with allergies, so it just can’t be considered)
Drop me a line if you think you might be interested, tell me about yourself, and we will go from there!
