Description
My current housemate is moving into her own place, so I’m looking for someone new!
I’m 37 and work in corporate education (I work from home). I’ve lived here for almost 3 years and love it. I very much consider it home and would love to find someone who wants the same.
I’m sociable and chatty but also like to chill by myself. With previous housemates there's been a nice balance of Netflix/takeaway/pub evenings and just relaxing by ourselves in our rooms.
Ideally, my next housemate will be someone who keeps the place clean and helps out with emptying the dishwasher, taking out the trash and recycling etc, andconsiderate with noise (i. e. closing your door if you’re on a call, using headphones and so on). I don’t want to live with a smoker.
The house
The available room is the larger of the two at the front of the house. It's furnished with a king size Hemnes bed and IKEA mattress (not pictured), 2 bedside tables and has built in wardrobes. It has a fireplace and huge windows so it gets plenty of light. The bathroom has a walk-in shower as well as a bath. There is a separate living room and big kitchen with a dining table. We also have a garden.
We’re situated right on the edge of Wanstead Flats so there’s a huge amount of green space literally on the doorstep. We’re a short bus ride away from Wanstead Village and in walking distance to Forest Gate. There are quite a few nice pubs/bars/boutique-y shops in the area, and there is a real community here so it is a lovely place to live.
Manor Park station is just under a 10-minute walk away and takes you into Liverpool Street in about 15-20 minutes, via Stratford. The Elizabeth line now goes straight to Tottenham Court Road without having to change at Liverpool Street!
Logistics
Rent is £826 a month including water charges, BT fixed line rental and Virgin broadband. Costs for electricity and council tax take it to a total of £1,076 a month, payable directly to the landlord. The deposit is 5 week's rent, which will be held within the Deposit Protection Service.
We have a cleaner who comes every two weeks which is £64/month each.
