5-10 minutes walk away
Description
Large double room available in a light-filled 2-bedroom flat in London Fields. The flat is a 10-minute walk from both Broadway Market and London Fields Station, and around 15 minutes from Haggerston Station. There’s a large shared kitchen, living room and bathroom, and the whole flat is full of windows on all sides, so it gets beautiful natural light throughout the day. The available room is west-facing, with direct sunlight in the late afternoons and evenings.
I bought the place a few months ago and I’m still gradually setting it up (a bookshelf is finally arriving this week, so the books will soon be off the floor!), so I’d love to share the space with someone who also cares about making a home feel warm and homey (bonus points if you’re into DIY).
You’d be sharing with me: I’m a 30-year-old social anthropologist (hopefully finishing my PhD before the end of the year), which means I often travel for fieldwork. I’m originally from Spain but have lived in a bunch of different countries over the past 15 years. I have a fairly flexible schedule and usually work from libraries, though I also do some more creative work from home like film editing.
Outside academic work, I’m involved in dance and perform with a company here in London. I also spend a lot of time cycling, reading and going to the cinema. I really value having a clean and tidy home, so I’m looking for someone who feels similarly and enjoys taking care of a shared space. I often host film nights and dinners at the flat and would love to live with someone who’d enjoy joining from time to time. More than anything, I’m hoping to share the space with someone I genuinely get along with — not just two strangers living under the same roof. I’m vegetarian, so that would be preferred, though definitely not a requirement.
The room comes unfurnished, but if you think you’d be a great fit and that’s an issue, feel free to mention it and we can see what’s possible.
