Description
Hello! We're looking for someone or a couple to stay with us for a while in our warehouse.
It's a nice relaxed non-judgemental household with 10 other open minded, friendly people who enjoy each other's company, and love cooking, watching films on the (massive) projector and chatting over a wine or a tea. People are pretty independent but sociable, keen to make new friends if that suits and just to look out for each other a bit.
We range from mid 20s to late 40s, from a few different parts of the world, working (or some of us not working so much at the moment) in different industries and on different schedules. We all have a love of sharing food, putting the world to rights, arty films, absurd things, going to gigs, sometimes having gigs in our house, drinking and talking bollocks. We're not a party house although we'll throw a proper one for a special occasion.
The house itself has high ceilings, skylights all round, lots of light and space and...
- fully equipped kitchen,
- two bathrooms with shower and bath,
- central heating,
- fibre optic broadband,
- projector and BIG white wall for films,
- a stage to lounge or perform on,
- a platform for guests to kip on,
- space for bikes,
- a private back-yard to work or smoke in,
- a big front garden to grow things, have a BBQ or just sun yourself in.
All the rooms have opening windows to the outside and central heating! Seems obvious but you don't always get that in warehouses :)
The area is full of creative houses with interesting people inside, there's a great community waiting to be explored. We have a music venue, bar and workshop space just round the corner and a new studio spaces to rent opening up.
Manor House is well connected on the Piccadilly and Victoria lines, with great bus routes to Hackney and everywhere. There's the best Turkish restaurants and shops in London and a lovely nature reserve and cafe just a few minutes from our house.
The rent includes all bills and council tax. We have a £15 pp kitty that pays for a cleaner once a month, although we have a cleaning rota too and we're big on recycling too. The kitty also covers all sorts of other things from washing powder and spices to toothpaste and tea. Making things nice and easy.
Looking for someone asap till mid March, and can be flexible with the length of stay.
Please get in touch with a bit about yourself and hopefully we can meet and show you round.
