Description
We are looking for a vegetarian to enjoy a home with a large private garden backing onto woodland. Your bedroom has a beautiful view of woodland from a large west facing window.
If you are a considerate person who enjoys nature and maybe gardening then this could be for you. Most of the time you will share with one person and a cat. Sometimes also with the friendly, quiet owners, who are Jennie and Adrian in our 50's with a quiet 18 year old son. We stay over for a few nights to see friends and to tackle any practical issues in the house that need attention. We are keen to have a low environmental impact so people who share these concerns and will recycle etc are particularly welcome.
The neighbours are lovely, there is a community feel so no parties to disturb them please.
The room is upstairs on the garden (not the roadside ) of a three-bedroom house, the garden backs onto woodland.
There are wooden floors throughout, which means that sound can travel so consideration is required. The room is available furnished or unfurnished. There is :
- a small double bed (or wide single) available if required, a wardrobe, shelves, a table and chair
- shared living/dining room/ kitchen with electric cooker and hob and a good quality washing machine
- bathroom with shower and bath
- garden with a greenhouse and fruit trees and a patio
- bike shed
- ecological energy provider
- WiFi is supplied by a cooperative company, it is OK but not the fastest, so it may not suit people working online all of the time
- an arty shabby chic feel
- another room for the owners to stay in when they visit
The front room upstairs is rented by Alix - I am 31 and currently work for the civil service. I cycle in to work most days but sometimes work from home. I am out a lot, usually doing yoga somewhere, and really appreciate coming home to a calm and quiet space. I like to cook and have friends for dinner sometimes, but no late nights or parties. The noise travels in this house so please be mindful of this before viewing as it really is better suited to a calm and quiet lifestyle. I’m growing some tomatoes and courgettes, and looking forward to making lots of apple crumble and plum jam over summer with fruits from the garden (and you’re welcome to join me). My cat lives here too, she is very friendly and loves company.
We are looking for people who will respect others, the property and the environment. Preference will be given to key workers, charity workers and gardeners.
This home is surrounded by parks with cafes, a community hub and an outdoor gym. The patio gets the afternoon and evening sun, garden is full of fruit trees.
This home is on a quiet street, with restricted access for vehicles and friendly neighbours in a nice mixed community.
Travel
You can walk to Turnpike Lane Tube station (Piccadilly Line) in 11 minutes or use the W4 bus stops outside the door and continues until after midnight. The W4 bus also goes to overland rail station at Bruce Grove Station (15 minutes walk) the line goes to Liverpool St. Other buses to Victoria Line or 20 minute walk.
Spareroom states that we have to share the council tax banding which is D, the cost of which is included.
Thanks for reading.
