I’m looking for a lodger for the second bedroom in my brand-new flat, in a quiet, leafy spot between Crouch End (top 7 best places to live in London according to The Sunday Time - look it up!) and Highgate. The flat is newly built and I’ve put a lot of care into making it feel calm, stylish and high quality — I recently worked with an interior designer to create a space that feels well thought through, comfortable and genuinely nice to live in.

The flat has a large open-plan living, dining and kitchen area (including a dishwasher) with two huge windows-one South-West facing, so it gets beautiful natural light in the afternoon and evening. There are lovely green, leafy views, a big terrace, and secure cycle storage in the building. There is also a separate laundry room, which is a real bonus as it means clothes can be dried there rather than in the shared living space - there is a dehumidifier in the room so clothes dry super quickly. And there is an option to use the drier as well. The flat also benefits from filtered fresh air throughout, so the air is constantly refreshed and the flat feels well ventilated without needing to have the windows open all the time. It also has a few smart-home touches, including Alexa and a robot vacuum that keeps on top of the floors day to day.

The area feels peaceful and residential, while still being very well connected. It’s around 10 minutes from Finsbury Park and Archway stations, and around 30 minutes door to door to Oxford Circus. By bike, it’s about 25 minutes, and you’re also very close to Crouch End and Highgate for cafés, shops and restaurants.

The room itself is calm, quiet and comfortable, with two windows so it feels bright and airy. It comes furnished with a small double bed (with a brand new Emma hybrid original mattress), a very large wardrobe, a desk and a mirror, so it works well both as a bedroom and for working from home. The whole flat is brand new, so everything still feels fresh, clean and modern.

A quick note on the photos: I’m still finishing a few details in the flat. For example, the kitchen island worktop has been added digitally in the photos to show the final look, but I’m currently in the process of ordering it and it should be in place within the next 2–3 weeks. I also plan to add a few finishing touches to the open-plan space, including artwork, a mirror and pendant lights. Also, even if it is not obvious in the photos, there is a TV above the sofa — it’s a Samsung Frame, so it is extremely thin and designed to look like a piece of art when switched off. I’m also planning to add a water softener in future, so softened water is likely to be another bonus down the line for anyone conscious of London hard water. The flat already looks great, but it will feel even more complete very soon.

A bit about me: I’m a professional working in Soho. I’m sociable, friendly and easy to live with, and I do enjoy sharing a home with someone rather than living alone. I’m into fitness, I don’t really drink much, and I’m not into a big party lifestyle (although I do have fun once in a while :). I like a home that feels relaxed, welcoming and easy to live in, with a good balance between being sociable and respecting each other’s space and routine.

I’m looking for someone who is tidy, considerate and naturally respectful of shared spaces — the sort of person who cleans up after themselves, puts things back where they belong, and helps keep the flat feeling uncluttered and looked after. This is not a party flat, so it would suit someone who wants a calm, well-kept home rather than somewhere loud or chaotic. Friends are absolutely welcome from time to time, and I would want the person living here to feel comfortable doing that, but ideally with a bit of notice in advance if planning to have someone over.

The building also has a really lovely feel to it — the neighbours are friendly, there is already a group chat, and it feels like a warm, welcoming little community.
