Description
Bright, light double room in peaceful flat, with leafy views over a small park and use of large shared garden.
The flat is well-insulated and cozy, the kitchen and bathroom small but comfortable, and the neighbours are friendly and quiet. The garden, which is shared with the other 3 flats in the building, is big for London, with a sunny lawn and large shady covered area, perfect for WFH during the summer.
The rent (bills inc.) reflects that there is no living room, although there is a couch in my room and I often watch movies in there with the current flatmate. We've been living together here for a year and it's worked well despite the lack of living room, but she is now moving in with her partner.
The room is listed as unfurnished as the current flatmate is taking her bed, but furnishings are a possibility.
One of your housemates will be a dog, so a fondness for dogs is a pre-requisite. She adores people and is calm and well-behaved in the flat, but she does have a soft undercoat that ends up floating about no matter how often we clean (hardwood floors, have a full-sized Dyson, a handheld vacuum, and various brooms and brushes). Prospective flatmates need to be okay with this and with being licked on a daily basis.
The other housemate has a double life in academia and music, who primarily WFH and likes to keep things quiet and cozy at home.
This room would suit someone who is happy with the smaller living space/lower rent trade-off, such as someone studying for a masters/ PhD, and/or someone looking for a Mon-Fri bolthole; definitely someone who who likes a quiet environment at home. My current flatmate's partner has stayed a couple of nights a week which has always been great, but due to the lack of a living room this is not a good flat for entertaining, except for balmy summer nights in the garden. We therefore tend to socialise elsewhere.
The room is available from mid-Feb, with flexibility with the move-in date. Please read the preference checkboxes before applying. Due to those already resident, preference is for a female flatmate over 30. Queer-friendly.
