What the Opportunity involves:
In return for the low-cost accommodation (£240 pm), we are looking to match our lovely homeowner with a cheerful and easy going sharer (it is our older homeowner's preference to share with a female); Someone who will provide companionship and a reassuring presence at night.
No personal care is permitted in a Homeshare.
Our friendly and easy going homeowner is 80. Since losing her husband 10 years ago, she leads a quieter life although still drives to meet friends weekly and play bridge. She likes to go for a walk in the morning and has a fairly simple daily routine - doing word games and puzzles and watching television. Her daughters live nearby and are very involved in her day-to-day life. One of them walks by each day with her dog and often pops in.
The current sharer is sadly leaving after nearly a year for personal reasons and we are looking to find a new sharer who would like comfortable and affordable accommodation in return for offering some companionship to the homeowner, mostly in the evenings and a little on a weekend. Sharing time together might include sharing some meals, watching television, doing a puzzle, popping to the local Waitrose (5-10 minutes walk), or for a local walk or to the local garden centre.
This opportunity would suit someone who is gentle and patient, either working or studying perhaps a couple of days a week from home (but this is not essential) who would enjoy sharing some time with her and helping with simple practical tasks.
We are looking to match this Homeshare opportunity soon. If it is of interest, please get in touch with us telling us about yourself, your work/study situation, and interests, and particularly why you consider that you would be well suited to this opportunity. Thank you.
**£240 per month**
This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the Homeowner. Bills are included, although you may be asked to make a modest contribution to the Homeowner towards the energy bills, and council tax if you are working.
We are a social enterprise facilitating Homeshare matches across London and surrounding areas. We match people who live alone and need some practical support and company, with mature adults wanting affordable accommodation who are happy to provide some companionship and practical support in return for a safe place to live. No personal care is permitted.
