Description

Friendly, clean and homely place with three double bedrooms spread over three levels and two bathrooms. One of works for a social think tank and the other is a doctor. Our old housemates (a couple) are moving out to enjoy their own new property! So their room will be available from the 20th April.

We're both very approachable people who are well trained in housemate etiquette: we're clean and tidy, we don't hog the TV, we don't keep each other up all night making lots of noise, but we're welcoming of each other's friends and family in the house. Hoping to find a housemate who shares some of our interests (running, cooking, books, film, TV, gigs and festivals) and who is sociable and independent.

The bedrooms are all equally very spacious doubles and there is plenty of storage space in the rest of the house for all your bits and pieces. The bedroom to rent has its own space on the 2nd floor with a landing area (big enough for a desk, wardrobe etc) and ensuite bathroom. The kitchen/dining area and living room are separated by a glass courtyard in the centre of the house with an internal corridor (you have to see it to understand - weird but cool!). Both areas are really big and afford us lots of space to enjoy without falling over each other- a rarity in such a central house share, we think. Plus we have a little patch of outside to enjoy when (if) there's some sunshine.
There is a utility room at the back of the house with another toilet and there's a storage area out there too with a washer/dryer and space for all kinds of junk. All mod cons included: we've got a dishwasher and everything.
Our landlord is great - he never bothers us but is always instantly reached if we need him. He pays into a community heating scheme which is included in our rent so no gas bill for us! The cost for other bills (including water, electricity, council tax and internet) is £60 PCM.

There is easy access to local amenities, including a Tesco superstore 5 minutes walk from the house and lots of smaller shops nearby.

One of the best things about the property is the local area, which features the popular Maltby Street Market and Bermondsey Street just 10 minutes walk away and Borough Market just a little walk further. There are countless restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars to enjoy, many of which have been featured in praise-giving reviews (have a Google of the above and see what you think).

Lastly, it's worth mentioning the transport links, which are excellent. There is a bus stop for the 78 (15 mins journey to Liverpool Street) and the 1 (20 mins journey to Covent Garden) a two minute walk from the front door, but there are also many, many different bus routes that run from Old Kent Road, which is a 5 minute walk. Bermondsey Tube is 10-15 minutes walk and London Bridge is 15-20 minutes, as are Elephant and Castle and Borough Stations.

That's all we can think of, but please get in touch if you'd like to ask any questions or to arrange to come and have a look at the place (and us).
