A friendly, intelligent and interesting older lady with restricted mobility is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a mix of 15 hours’ help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

She would value the friendly reassurance and company of having someone around her home in the evenings and overnight, and be glad to help someone with a home in exchange. She would appreciate some general practical help, such as picking up shopping, cooking and sharing a few simple healthy meals, help with simple tech/her phone, carrying heavier items, accompanying on local walks, and ad hoc other practical help and errands as may be needed. She has a friend who regularly visits for a few days at a time, and the help of a cleaner.

The accommodation on offer is a furnished single bedroom (furniture to be discussed with the Sharer), and shared use of the bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and garden

The property is in Lewisham, just 10 minutes’ walk from Hither Green Station (trains to London Bridge take 20 minutes), 25 minutes’ walk to Lewisham Hospital, and 25 minutes’ walk (or 15 minutes’ bus) to Lewisham Station. It’s just one minute from the lovely spaces of Manor and 5 minutes’ walk from a large Sainsbury’s.

The lady is a retired professor (education) and has a wide range of interests including politics (Labour Party), reading the Guardian, watching documentaries (especially history and current affairs), philosophy, classical music and singing in a choir, walking (when able), books, eating out and seeing friends.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a kind, gentle, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests, and who would really appreciate the accommodation.
