Description
I'm looking for someone to take over my lease in a double room in Brockley ASAP. The room is a decent size and gets lots of light. There is a built-in closet, a small side table with drawers, and space for a wardrobe, if you want one (the brown wooden wardrobe in the photo won't be there by move-in). There is a boxspring included in the room as well, you just need to purchase your own mattress, but we can remove the boxspring if needed.
The house is cozy and has a full kitchen with washing machine, separate toilet, a bathroom with a tub & shower, a living room and a cute backyard garden/patio. There's also a smaller room that is used as an office and extra storage space for art supplies, etc. There's space for a bike in the backyard if needed/desired.
Access info: there are 15 steps up the stairs to get to the room, toilet, and bathroom. The living room and kitchen are on the ground floor. There is one step down to get to the patio. Folks eat fish and meat in the home (though vegetarians are welcome, if this doesn't bother you).
We are conveniently located next door to several bus stops/routes and the Brockley overground is about 10 mins away walking. New Cross and Goldsmiths are a 15 minute walk and there's a Sainsbury's 7 mins away in Brockley proper. The street is residential and quiet.
The house is shared with one Black queer nonbinary roommate working in the arts and event production, as well as a second non-POC roommate. Roommates of all backgrounds are welcome. We share some house staples like oil, spices, some veggies, milk, cleaning supplies and toilet paper, etc. A housecleaner comes one a month for deep cleans and chores are shared in-between to maintain. Roommates are respectful of others' space and solo time, with house meetings once a month or so to go over house needs.
The rent is 780/month and bills come out to about 100-120 per month, including council tax and housecleaner costs. Move in date is first week of May, ideally by May 1st (though this date is flexible/TBC) and the deposit is 903.66 GBP. You would have to go through reference checks and have an income of at least 24,000 GBP per year to rent the space, so students may not be a great fit unless you have a guarantor.
Hit me up if you have questions and are interested in a viewing, as I am trying to fill the room as soon as possible for my move next month.
