Description
Hello! 😊
Please read the below carefully to make sure it is a good fit -
My flatmate is moving back to Scotland at the beginning of November, so I’m looking for a friendly, respectful, and clean flatmate to share my cozy 2-bedroom flat. It is an upstairs flat in an end-of-terrace Victorian conversion. Perfect for someone who values a peaceful and tidy living environment. It has wooden floors, high ceilings and a recently renovated kitchen.
The area:
The flat is about a 4 minute walk from Queens Road Peckham station which has an 8-minute train direct into London Bridge as well as an overground line.
Queens Road Peckham is a lovely area with some great independent restaurants and bars. Peckham Cellars wine bar, Kudu restaurant and Sainsburys local are about 2 minutes away. We’re also about a ten-minute walk from both Lidl and Morrisons for some more budget-friendly grocery shopping!
Vibrant and bustling Peckham Rye is about a 12-minute walk away or 1 stop on the overground. It’s great because we have it right on our doorstep but are far away enough to be in a quieter, more peaceful area.
The street is super friendly and I know most of my neighbours which is rare for London! We’re all in a neighbourhood WhatsApp group and talk regularly. There is a street book club I’m a part of as well and I sometimes go to our next-door neighbour for coffee and a catch up! 😊
The room:
The room is cosy double room. I am currently in it but will be moving into the bigger room when my current flatmate moves (the rent is higher on the bigger room).
Please note – the room isn’t really big enough for a desk and chair so if you work from home a lot, it may not suit. There is a desk in the living room/kitchen area but please note that this is a shared space. If you have 1 or 2 WFH days though you can obviously work in living room and I'll give you as much space possible / will prob be in office anyway!
The rent for the room is £725 per month plus bills which are as follows:
Council Tax: £71.77
Heating & Electricity: £57.67
Internet: £23.93
Water: £21.66
Cleaner: £40
The cleaner comes once every 2 weeks to give it a deep clean (as it’s an older flat it tends to get dustier more quickly etc).
About me:
I am 31 years old and I work in Media Sales in the City. I’m originally from South Africa and moved here about 7 years ago to do my Masters at drama school (I used to work as an actress before Covid swiftly put an end to that!). I am bubbly and friendly and enjoy going to the gym, yoga, reading, watching movies etc (so nothing special there really haha). As a South African I am also partial to a glass of good wine – so having Peckham Cellars just up the road is perfect!
My job is very demanding so its really important to me that the flat is a peaceful and clean environment. I have a lot of early morning starts and late-night finishes after work/gym etc, so I want to come home to a space that is welcoming and comfortable. This is definitely not a party house! It is a lovely flat, but it is quite small with only 1 shared bathroom (it is a large and lovely bathroom though) so my current flatmate and I are mindful about not infringing on the other’s space. We always check with each other before having someone over (I realise this makes it sound a bit rigid – it’s not, but just wanting to be clear about expectations as it is a smaller shared space!). It’s just about being considerate and respectful towards each other.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please get in touch!
Please include:
• A bit about yourself
• Your work situation – what you do, if you ever need to WFH at all etc
• What you are looking for in a flat share
Please do try to give me as much information as possible and be completely transparent and honest – due to a high number of enquiries, I will only respond to people who include as much information as possible.
I’m excited to find someone like-minded to share this lovely space with 😊
Looking forward to hearing from you!
