Description
A double room is available as a sublet for 6 months (November 2025-May 2026) in our lovely queer home in Walworth, SE17. £910/month plus bills.
You will be living with three other housemates and two friendly cats. Our housemate is going on a career break and travelling, so the room is available on a sublet basis from November!
The Room/ House:
The room is fully furnished, with a double bed, wardrobe, clothes rail and chest of drawers. The room faces into the garden, which is south-facing so lots of sunshine.
The house has a shower room, bath room (with washer and dryer), living room, kitchen and garden.
Accessibility:
The room is on the second floor of the house, up a flight of stairs (13 steps), a landing plus 3 more steps.
The house is a two storey terraced house. There is one step up into the front garden, then another step into the house. The ground floor has a change in level - one step down into the living room from the hallway, then another step down into the kitchen.
The bathroom and shower room are both on the second floor.
Entry is through the front door with a key (one step up).
There is a door bell and no intercom.

Elephant and Castle Tube Station (Northern/Bakerloo tube, lots of buses): 15/20 minute walk
Old Kent Road (Buses): 5-minute walk
High Streets: Walworth Road and Old Kent Road with libraries, bakeries, grocery shops and LIDL
Burgess Park: 10-minute walk
About us:
We are three queer people in our late twenties/ early thirties (and two cats!)
Things like trade union organising, going to Palestine march together and karaoke are important to us.
We love having a peaceful home where we are all friends and like to hang out together, but also deeply value our private alone time.
We’d love someone who is relaxed and easy to get along with, and who helps keep our shared spaces clean and tidy. We have a lot of plants and ferments.
We all work long hours (community/ housing/ health research) so we appreciate a calm, quiet house most of the time, but are fine with the occasional guest.
Ideally, looking for someone who is considerate of others and up for living communally. We share our grocery shopping, and cook for each other most nights.
We have mixed work from home and in-office schedules, so we would ideally love someone who works mostly out of the house, but not a deal breaker.
We have two cats - this means that we can’t accept anyone with more pets.
We don’t smoke indoors, one of us smokes occasionally in the garden. We prefer not to smoke weed.
Practical Things:
The room is available from November 14th 2025 - mid-May 2026 and we are looking for someone who is able to sublet for the whole time. The exact return date of our housemate is still tbc.
Benefits (Universal Credit) are accepted.
Deposit is 1 months rent (£910).
The rent will be £910 per month + bills. We estimate that bills are around £75 per month. The council tax band is D.
