Description
I'm looking for someone to take over my part of the rental contract for a really bright double room in a two-bedroom terraced house with a garden.
The bedroom has dual windows, two built-in wardrobes, and a fireplace (it's not usable, but it’s a cute addition). It’s spacious and gets loads of natural light.
The house is about a 20-minute walk from Norwood Junction (Thameslink and Southern Rail – only 15 minutes to London Bridge) and a 10-minute walk from Thornton Heath station (Southern Rail – 25 minutes to London Victoria / 17 minutes to Clapham Junction).
Downstairs, there’s a living room with a feature fireplace and bay windows (the fireplace isn’t functional, but it looks lovely), separate dining room with loads of storage and archways through to a large kitchen. The kitchen has a brand new washing machine, a dishwasher, and plenty of space to cook and host. There's also a large under-stairs storage area.
There’s one bathroom, but it’s a great size with a bath/shower. The garden has a decking with table and chairs for 2 and there's a small wooden shed at the back for further storage.. (currently containing gas bbq for tenants use).
The current contract runs until January 2027. But, there’s a break clause in January 2026, and the agency also offers a tenant swap-out option.
We moved into the house unfurnished. Most of the furniture here is mine, so I’ll be taking a fair bit with me, but I'd be open to discussing leaving some bedroom furniture if needed.
You'd be sharing with Patrea, a 26-year-old female who works in operations (hybrid, 2–3 days in the office) and her 1.5-year-old Mini Schnauzer, Shadow. Ideally looking for another female professional who likes dogs!
It’s a lovely house. It was the landlord’s old family home and has lots of cute touches, like the cupboard under the stairs that has the heights of everyone in their family (as well as everyone who's lived here & their pets). The landlords are a really nice couple who live not too far. They’re proactive when needed but leave you to it otherwise. The contracts and referencing are all handled by an agency.
Approx bills per month (per room) is £200. This includes: super fast virgin media wifi, gas, electric, council tax, water, and tv license.
