Lovely double room in a two bed flat in Sydenham

The room
I have a double room available in a first floor two bed flat in Sydenham, just 7 mins walk from the station. The room is currently part-furnished with a double bed, a bedside drawer and a single built-in wardrobe and space to store suitcases etc under the bed. I can furnish with a large chest of drawers if you do not have your own. There is plenty of storage space for clothes and toiletries.

About me
I am a live-in landlady, and Sydenham local for almost 12 years. I am a friendly, chatty, independent Londoner with a sense of humour. I work as a freelance retail business consultant and usually work from home on Fridays. I love cooking, and have a wide range of interests (see the interests section). Essentially, I like most things, am well-travelled and empathetic. I like to think I am open-minded to different personality types, but we will probably be best suited as flatmates if you are honest and easy going and have your own life in London. I am outgoing and fun, but in the flat I can be quite chilled. I lead the usual London-life of socialising after work or attempting the gym. During the weekends, I generally try to stay in or stay local if I go out. I value family, friends and my independence. I am clean, reasonably tidy (I have a lot of clothes - but kept in my room!), and definitely not a morning person!

The flat
There is a shared living-dining room, bathroom and separate kitchen. There is also a balcony which overlooks the communal space of the block. If you have lots of stuff I. e. books, bikes, furniture and kitchenware then I’m not sure this is the right flat for you. I cook a lot so already have lots of utensils and cookware etc in the kitchen which is there for you to use.

The area
Sydenham is great - I'm biased of course, but I have everything I need here. A couple of great local pubs/bars, a 24 hour gym, yoga studio, local restaurants, cute cafes, a comedy venue, good sense of community and if this is your thing - a Nandos. Why would you ever leave? Joking aside, the local area is great too - 10 mins walk to Crystal Palace Park (great in the summer), 10 mins walk to Forest Hill if you want to feel posh, and transport links for SE London ranging from 5 mins (Penge) to 20 mins (Peckham). Even Croydon is just a 10 min train ride away.

What else?
I am considering fostering a cat - 2-3 months at a time, as I can only have an indoor cat due to it being self-contained flats so you must be ok with that possibility. At the moment though, my life is pretty busy (career/socially/personal projects) so this may not happen for a quite a while. So that would of course mean it would be ok for you to bring your cat in which case I wouldn't foster just yet (it will have to be an indoor cat as there is not means of the cat getting in and out).

Mi casa es tu casa! This is equally your home so please feel comfortable to interact with me, cook a meal together or go out for a drink at the local (or indeed, indoors!). Flatmates who stay in their bedroom all the time with a closed door is not for me.

There is a cleaner for the common areas who comes once a week. It will be £12 a week each in addition to the rent but it means we don't need to worry about a cleaning rota!
