Description
We are looking for a flatmate as a replacement tenant for one of the rooms in a three-bedroom apartment (SE5) nestled between the vibrant neighbourhoods of Elephant and Castle and Camberwell.
About the apartment: This charming, bright Georgian duplex is fully furnished and located between Elephant & Castle and Camberwell. The apartment is ready to move in with all furnishings, equipment, linen, etc. The monthly rent is £2,200 and will be divided among the three tenants. Utility bills, including council tax, average around £130 per person per month.
The space is a warmly inviting apartment located in the heart of a designated conservation area in Southwark Borough. It is a quiet road, a short walk from the bustle of London.
The apartment has easy access to the city centre - a 30-minute bus ride/20-minute bike ride to central London/15 minutes to Tower Bridge - and is 5 minutes' walk from Burgess Park. Our closest tube stations are Elephant and Castle, Oval, Kennington, and Denmark Hill.
There are multiple grocery stores within walking distance, such as Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrison’s, and Lidl. There are also a few libraries and a post office nearby.
This two-and-a-half-floor apartment offers a unique and stylish living experience, complete with beautiful wooden floors made from reclaimed school wooden tiles.
Adjoining the double bedroom is a dedicated study room with a long desk and office chairs. The bathroom has a bathtub and a shower, with a shower curtain. It also has storage space and a washing machine. There's also an outdoor bike shed and storage.
Please note that the apartment is split-level, requiring you to navigate stairs to enter on the first floor, proceed to the second floor, and access the bathroom on an intermediate floor.
The house DOES NOT have a living room, but it does have common spaces, including a spacious kitchen with a four-seater dining table and a study room.
About the room: The bedroom on offer features a double-size bed with ample storage and wardrobe space, as well as a shelf with a mirror. The room features a double-glazed window.
About the current flatmates: The apartment is currently occupied by two working male professionals (aged 30-35) who’ve been living in the apartment for 2 years. They are nice and friendly, love living a clean life, and respect others' privacy. They often work from home and use the study room. We’re now looking for a third tenant as our current flatmate is moving out.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a working professional who is tidy, respectful, and mindful of others’ privacy. We take really good care of the apartment and have a great, respectful relationship with our landlady, who has been considerate and very responsive to our needs. We often do our part in maintaining the house, whether it’s coordinating repairs or handling anything else that’s required. Since the apartment has wooden flooring and surfaces, it requires some special care and attention, such as keeping the rooms well-ventilated or being careful when placing hot appliances on the kitchen counter. We’d love to share the space with someone who treats the apartment as their home and takes responsibility for housekeeping and paying bills on time.
We are a pretty chill and quiet household. Everyone values their own privacy, while also occasionally hanging out to explore, play card/board games or cook together on weekends. Since there’s no living room, it hasn’t been a party house, but we do have guests over and enjoy hosting from time to time.
Maintaining cleanliness is important to us, especially in common spaces. No shoes inside the house, beyond the shoe rack, is a firm rule. We also follow a weekly rotating cleaning schedule to keep the house clean and comfortable for everyone.
Available to move in from 1 March onwards.
