Huge, bright room in Streatham Hill

The room: Very big, 4.92x3.85m. More storage space than you’ll ever need. Comes furnished with a king-size bed and firm mattress, blackout blinds, large chest of drawers, 2 lamps, 2 bedside tables, 4 rugs, desk, and swivel chair. 4 USB sockets in the room.

Availability: From May 2026.

Location: 5 mins walk from Streatham Hill station. 15 mins walk from Streatham station. 2 buses/minute to Brixton, or Croydon in the other direction.

9 mins direct train to Clapham Junction; 17 mins direct to Victoria.

Good access to St George's Hospital in Tooting via buses 57, 333, or G1.

Located just off Streatham High Road which has all the supermarkets, bars, restaurants, gyms, and charity shops you need.

Rent: £1,100 pcm. This includes all bills. No agency fees. The room is big enough for a couple, and the rent would be £1,500.

Deposit: £1,100 for a single person; £1,500 for a couple.

A couple has lived here for 1.5 years and they've been lovely, and they're now moving closer to their work.

About me: I am 41, gay male. I am a non-smoker.

I am currently freelancing with clients in the charity sector and I start a new role at a hospice in June. I used to be involved in the LGBT rights movement; now I enjoy running (we’re 15 mins walk from Tooting Common parkrun), reading, buying more plants, baking bread, and planning my next trip, and my next race.

I’ve lived here for 5 years. I look after the flat and fix anything that needs to be fixed without delay.

The rest of the flat: Plants in every room. High ceilings. Very big living room (5.23x3.96m). Netflix on the tv that’s included in the rent. Fast internet. A big kitchen with a dishwasher. A balcony, and fire-escape stairs (so 2 entrances to the flat). A bathroom, and a separate loo. More storage space if you need it.

This is not a party flat. I know all our neighbours, and have a good relationship with them.

I had a terrible experience with a former lodger who I asked to leave after 3 weeks because he drunk-sexted me 3 times in a fortnight. I will ask you about your relationship with alcohol. If you get drunk regularly, please look elsewhere.

We may be a match if:
- You don't smoke or vape
- You work from outside the flat at least 2 days/week
- You're seeking a quiet home
- You know how to use a broom/vacuum cleaner :)

Accessibility: We’re on the second floor. It’s a 1930s block with original period features, and no lifts.
