Local Amenities:
The nearest supermarket (Lidl) which is a short 8 minute walk away (alongside a corner shop), and if you want more options, there’s a massive Tesco Extra, M&S, and Aldi if you’re willing to walk a bit further. Norbury and Streatham both have public libraries, and Streatham Leisure Centre offers a large gym, a swimming pool, courts, and a variety of fitness classes.
Area:
The area is quiet, relaxed and residential, we’re near Norbury Park, Streatham Common, and Norwood Grove Park—great spots for a stroll , park hangouts, or outdoor activities.
Meet your flatmates:
Sophie (she/they), 26, from Hong Kong, with a background in bespoke tailoring, but currently looking for other roles within the creative industry. She loves cooking and eating, playing mahjong, starting ambitious knitting projects and regretting it later, going on walks to decompress and cry, and enjoys pole dancing too.
Ant (they/them), 24, from Lebanon, is a trained barista who makes wonderful coffees. They like playing video games, watching cartoons with friends, being silly and sarcastic, and they have a soft spot for pigeons and cold lasagna (enhances the sweetness factor trust me on this). They watch drag race on repeat and will fall asleep at any given time (my narcoleptic aah). They also have a nintendo switch (smash ultimate anyone?), PS4 (guilty gear anyone?), and a record player for communal use.
What living with us is like:
We are queer and neurodivergent girlies who put a lot of care in keeping our space tidy and cozy. It’s a shoes-off home, and while we’re still settling in, we plan to rotate chores weekly or every other week. We understand that life happens, so if you can’t manage chores one week, just let us know. The goal is for everyone to contribute equally and help keep the shared spaces clean by tidying up after themselves.
We enjoy hanging out together, whether it’s sharing our favourite TV shows, music, games, or just chatting, but we also respect each other’s need for personal space and downtime. We do love hosting friends and are happy for you to invite people over too—just give a heads-up in the group chat, especially if they’re staying over and work schedules are involved. You’re responsible for any guests you bring, so please be mindful of how they treat the space.
We share the cost of communal groceries (like oat milk, bananas) and household supplies (toilet paper, cleaning products) using Splitwise, so there’s always a clear record of shared expenses. If there’s something you don’t want to contribute to, just let us know! We’re mindful of everyone’s financial situation, but ideally, it’s good to settle balances before the next rent cycle. This system is based off trust and clear communication (more on that later).
We also enjoy cooking for each other, but when busy there’s no pressure to do so. If someone cooks, the general rule is that they don’t have to clean up afterward. Ingredients used for communal meals are shared on Splitwise too, and if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know so we can accommodate everyone.
We are a house that highly prioritises open communication. We are looking to create an environment we all feel we can come back to after work and unwind. London can be quite isolating so we would want the house to feel like a safe space to all, both by being there for each other and giving each other space. This means being direct and honest with each other whenever needed.
Lastly, it’s important to mention that our household strongly supports the liberation of Palestine from Israeli occupation and the dismantling of Western imperialist systems. If you do not share these views, this probably won’t be the right fit for you, so please do not reply to this ad in that case.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who’s into communal living, values cleanliness, reliability, good communication, and is considerate of others. We’re looking for someone who’s interested in long-term accommodation as the tenancy for the property is up to 2 years, but if you want to move out before then, please let us know as soon as you are able to.
We’re excited to meet you! Let us know if you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing x
