Description
Good size double-room available in a big 2-bed Balham flat – excellent location! A genuinely fantastic opportunity at a very reasonable rate for the area. I’ll be moving elsewhere as I am buying a property and need someone to take over my room, otherwise I would very happily stay here.
£825pcm, between £100-150pcm for all bills (depending on energy costs), including Council Tax (Band C). I have been paying £950 all in and that covers everything.
Sharing with one professional male, 31 years old. He’s an IT Consultant working hybrid from home and the office, and he is incredibly clean and social. He recently got married, and his wife is planning to move over in late September. Initially, she will stay in the flat to acclimatize to the country. Their plan is for her to live in the flat for a time, and eventually, they aim to get their own place in the mid-term.
Ideally looking for an office-based or hybrid worker (not purely WFH), conscientious and respectful, open to hanging-out while valuing personal space. Looking for someone to move in from between 20th July and August 3rd but I can be very flexible on these.
It’s a big flat at nearly 800sqft, with a large living room (big enough for a cosy sofa/ TV area and a Work From Home desk area), a separate good size kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate toilet room. There’s also fantastic storage, with 3 built-in cupboard spaces and a separate storage room. Best of all, it’s on the top (2nd) floor and doesn’t have neighbouring flats to either side, so is wonderfully quiet all day and night. Situated on a lovely residential road, popular with families and young professionals.
The furnished room is good size too (3,55m x 2.87m) and has ample space to store all my stuff whilst allowing freedom to walk around. I currently have a TV in there which also takes up a lot of floor space so there's more space to be had, if desired!
Less than 5 minutes away from Balham High Street (which quickly became one of my favourite streets in London), full of amazing restaurants, supermarkets (big Sainsburys, little Aldi, little Co-op), cute coffee shops, high street stores (T. K Maxx, Oliver Bonas), opticians, launderette, gym – basically everything you’ll need, pretty much all on your doorstep.
Buzzy night life too – amazing pubs like The Bedford, The Cyclist, Hagen & Hyde, and Balham Bowl’s Club are all within a 10-minute walk.
Very well connected! Just a 10-minute walk to Balham station, with regular fast underground trains into Central London on the Northern line (24 hour service on weekends), as well as national rail lines that run from Victoria through to Gatwick Airport and Brighton. Also plenty of buses!
Lots of easily accessible green spaces too: 5-10 minute walk away from Tooting Common and Wandsworth Common (both lovely, especially in the summer) and a 15-minute walk away from Clapham Common.
