Description
We have a large double en-suite room available for a couple in a 5 bedroom semi-detached house in Merton Park. It is a loft conversion with a big east-facing window overlooking the substantial garden and has a wide, leafy panorama thanks to the beautiful Morden Hall Park on the other side of Morden Road.
The room itself has a lot of floor space and a huge amount of storage built in to the wall cabinets and wardrobes. It has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink; there is also a small “mini-attic” which can be used for storage. It's a big space and the photos don't do it justice. It currently has a basic but functional bed frame with a mattress. There is a There is space for more if needed.
The house has in addition to the bedrooms: a large living/dining room, a kitchen/utility room, two small toilets and a bathroom. Also the garden is very long with one large garage at the near end by the patio and a shed at the far end in the rock garden. The garden does need a certain amount of maintenance, so we as tenants need to do a bit of gardening, especially during summer. The patio is excellent for barbecues and the lawn is a good size for playing badminton. The front garden is paved for cars, and we can accommodate one more car. We have an arrangement with our very nice neighbours for sharing the driveway between the houses for visitors; also the road has free on-street parking on weekends and evenings.
The living room has three sofas, bookshelves and a 4k tv. The oak dining table is very large and can potentially seat 10 people round it when fully extended. The kitchen is quite narrow, but well equipped with multiple fridges, an oven, rice cooker, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and a microwave.
The house is very close to Morden Underground station, Morden Road Tram Stop and the 93 bus route. Wimbledon and Wimbledon Chase stations are both within walking distance, but a bit further. We have a good selection of shops and restaurants on Morden High Street and a Sainsbury’s and Lidl within 10 minutes walk.
There four other tenants of diverse ages and backgrounds, and a cat.
Bills are around the £170-£200 mark for the room which includes: WiFi, gas, water, electricity, council tax (no student exemptions), house kitty for bin bags, light bulbs etc. We would consider one person for the room, but the bills would only be marginally less as the council tax portion remains the same.
