Description
I have a double room available in a lovely double fronted, end of terrace, three bedroom home with a garden, at the top of Brixton Hill.
I’m looking for a professional gay male to share with me and another fella to make this place a home.
Two professional gay men live here so there will be 3 of us including you.
We are very laid back, with a variety of interests. We both have our own active social lives, but also enjoy nights in with good food and a bit of telly.
Rent: £1,250 (inc. all bills) for a double room and shared space in a large Victorian house, refurb’d to a very high spec., with mod cons and garden
Super fast broadband
Sky TV and most streaming platforms
I work from home full time (when not travelling with work), so someone who has some office based working is important for house dynamics. It’s a big place but not entirely suitable as a full-time co-working space sadly.
The house (a proper house too, with stairs and everything 😜) is really beautifully furnished, has high ceilings, a very large high spec kitchen diner and double length living room. Two working wood burning stoves in the dining room and living room allows the house to get really cozy in the winter (there is central heating too, don’t worry).
The kitchen is fully equipped with a 6 burner range and double oven, American style fridge, dishwasher, and hot/cold/sparking tap, waste disposal, microwave, airfryer (obviously) and, most importantly, a wine fridge.
The living room has 3 sofas, a large TV with Sky and all the streaming platforms you could ever want. There is a nice sized garden which can be accessed from the living room (via trifold doors that open up the whole back of the living room), the kitchen and by gates from the street if you need to store a bike.
Upstairs there are 3 double bedrooms. The bedroom for rent overlooks the garden and is super quiet. It comes furnished with two bedside tables, storage drawers, and in built wardrobe. There is also lots of additional space in the house to store items (including a massive loft if you are a secret hoarder).
There is one shared bathroom, which is absolutely huge with a fantastic walk-in shower, freestanding bath, double sinks and underfloor heating. There is an additional WC and cloakroom downstairs.
The house is in a quiet residential street at the top of Brixton Hill. Tooting Common, Brockwell Park and Clapham Common are short walks away (about 15 mins). Brixton with the tube station and village is a 20 minute walk down the hill, or 5-10 minutes by bus. There are a whopping nine buses leaving from the nearest stop which is 2 mins walk away and right by a Sainsbury’s Local. There are loads of transport options! Streatham High Road is a 10 minute walk away and (in my opinion) can hold its own against Brixton with quality eateries. From Streatham Hill you can get the train straight to Victoria or London Bridge. Clapham High Street is a 10 minute bus ride away.
