Low cost accommadation in Lambeth SW2

We are looking for a Sharer to move in with an elderly lady and her daughter to give a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.

The elderly lady has poor memory and mobility, and because her daughter is away from home for work some nights each week, they would like the support of a live-in Sharer who can be a friendly and reassuring overnight presence on those nights. They would also appreciate help leaving out a simple breakfast tray, and someone who would be happy to have a chat and a cup of tea with the lady, and accompany her on a few local walks/outings when available. The lady is well supported by carers. Other ad hoc practical help such as picking up shopping, taking out bins, ad hoc tasks and errands etc would also be gratefully received.

The accommodation on offer is a spacious bedroom with shared use of a bathroom and the kitchen and sitting room.

The property is in an excellent location in Lambeth, approx. 20 mins walk/10 mins bus to Clapham Common Underground Station (Northern Line), plus similar distances to Clapham North and Brixton stations.

The elderly lady used to be an upholsterer and used to enjoy sewing and knitting. She loves chatting, going on local outings, and watching Tv (such as The Piano series). The daughter is a teacher. Having had many lodgers over the years, they are used to sharing their home.

As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time to give the agreed level of company and support. The ideal Sharer will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the person’s interests.
