Description
Hello and welcome to Daffodil—where you might just find the next place you’ll call home.
What you’ll find below isn't another "dry as dust" SpareRoom drab; it’s an invitation to see if you’re the right fit for our sanctuary.
First, let’s get the boring (but important) admin bits out of the way:
The Room –
Double room furnished with a few basics (e. g. bed, chest of drawers , desk etc). We can talk about adding or removing items to suit your needs. It's on the top floor, close to the shower and WC, and faces east, so it gets great light during the day.
Available from 1st April 2026. If you need to move in a day earlier or later, we can discuss that.
Finances –
The house is let as a whole. This is not a room-by-room set up, so we are all on the same contract. The share of this room in the total rent is £610 pcm.
To secure the room, a deposit of £610 is required, and the first month's rent (£610) is due on the move-in day.
Bills are not included and are dealt with separately. All main bills (e. g. Council Tax H&F band F, Broadband, Gas & Electricity, Water etc.) are split equally. Amount per person may vary month to month, but it’s been averaging around c. £130 per person.
Location –
We are based in the W12 area.
There are several transport links around. Closest station is East Acton (Central Line, Zone 2) that is c. 7 mins walk away. Acton Central (Overground), Wood Lane (Circle & Hammersmith and City) and Acton Mainline (Elizabeth Line) are few other stations around.
There is off-street parking available. A permit needs to be obtained from the council.
Now, let’s discuss the more interesting parts.
Whose boots you’re filling?
Well, Emma took her football boots with her when she left us to go to Singapore, so no actuals boots to fill, but you might be able to remind us of the Sushis she used to make for us ?
Who are you joining?
Nima, well it’s technically Dr Nima given I have a PhD but I’m so down to earth I’m okay with just being Nima. Outside of my Strategy/Finance work that I do for a global sport broadcaster, I am either training BJJ - when I am not injured- baking some banana bread or mixing some cocktails. Emma is still thinking about the last Spicy Margarita I made for her.
Cristina, the pride of Puglia, is a food development chef but for some reason prefers to not to cook for others at home?! If you're nice though, she'll make you tiramisu occasionally.
Istvan, interior designer from the land of Dracula, has been with us for less than a year but has actually been living on this road for many years , and we didn’t even know about it ! If you are keen on anything DiY, feel free to submit your proposal to him.
Who is our ideal housemate?
This part is the most important, and understanding it well would save everyone a lot of time.
Firstly, even though there are lovely students out there who are very mature and act above their age, what we’re looking for is a working professional that meets the stated demographic profile.
More importantly, our concept of living together is centred around being at Daffodil as a ‘home’, not a ‘house share’. So everything is based on:
Self-respect | We keep the house clean and tidy out of our own initiative, not because of a cleaning rota or an obligation to each other. We’re looking for a mature self-starter who detects the work that needs doing, and does it without necessarily being asked to.
Intentionality | We don't just exist in the house; we live here because we want to. We’re looking for a reliable and trustworthy person who takes pride in their surroundings and naturally contributes to the admin and energy that makes a house feel like a home.
Authenticity | Daffodil is our home, not a a glorified hostel. We don’t do forced "Pizza & Movie Thursdays" or follow social timetables as if it’s college. We prefer organic connection—whether that’s a spontaneous BBQ in the garden, a cocktail in the living room, or even a holiday together. We’re not the "coolest thing since sliced bread," but we are genuine.
If you think you’d be a good fit for our house, drop us a message here. Tell us more about yourself and let us know why you’d like to live with us. We can then take it from there to arrange a viewing.
No agencies please.
