The reason for this reduced rent - well below market value - is that he has early Alzheimers and his family want to feel reassured that there is a kind, patient, responsible person sharing his space who will keep an eye on his well being and can commit to around an hour a day in assisting him.
I should stress that he is not in need of any personal care such as help with washing or dressing.
He is intelligent, healthy, good natured, and easy going with a great sense of humour, but can be forgetful, and needs help with technology.
It would also be incredibly helpful if my father could sometimes be accompanied to medical appointments or recreational activities.
He has 6 adult children who are fairly hands on, but we can't take too much time off work during the week.

Hence I think this accommodation might be perfect for a medical or social work student , who as well as getting a central London home could look on this as useful experience in dealing with this condition. If everything works out well I would be glad to give a glowing reference.
