We’re looking for someone to take over a room in our lovely flat at Portman Square, Marylebone (W1H) — a super central location that’s also surprisingly peaceful. The available room is a quiet, ensuite double, furnished with a standard double bed, two wardrobes (including a built-in mirrored one), and a private ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and bidet. The room faces the inside of the building, so there’s virtually no noise, and the flat overall is very calm and quiet.
The flat has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large shared living room, and a spacious, well-equipped kitchen. The building benefits from free centralised heating (included), as well as 24/7 concierge service, who are great for parcels and day-to-day help. Residents also have access to the beautiful Portman Square Gardens, including a private residents-only tennis court, which is a rare bonus in central London. We also have a bi-weekly professional cleaner, which helps keep the flat in good shape.
The location is genuinely excellent: Marble Arch is about 5 minutes away, Bond Street around 6 minutes, and Baker Street 10–12 minutes on foot. Oxford Street, Selfridges, M&S Food Hall, Hyde Park, and Marylebone High Street are all within easy walking distance. London Business School is around a 12-minute walk. Despite being right in the middle of things, the street is tucked away and very quiet.
The rent is £1,205 per month, with bills typically £150–£200 per month (including council tax, Westminster). The deposit is £1,390. The room is available from 1 March. The current flatmate is moving out due to unforeseen personal reasons, so we’re looking for someone to take over the remainder of his contract, which runs until 26 October, with the option to renew afterwards. The flat is managed by very responsive and reliable estate agents.
You’ll be sharing with two male professionals in their late 20s — one data scientist and one PhD researcher at London Business School. We’re friendly, respectful, and fairly busy during the week, but we do enjoy grabbing a few pints together at the weekend when schedules allow. We’re looking for a professional or postgraduate who’s tidy, considerate, and comfortable living in a calm, well-kept home. Working from home is absolutely fine.
