Description
Hi there - we're Maddie & Sophia, two late 20s professionals, and we are looking for a third person to fill our beautiful, spacious Maida Vale flat from February 1st 2025.
We went to university together so have known each other for a long time but love to socialise with anyone, and a housemate who would like to go for the odd meal, pub night, pub quiz etc. would fit in very well! But we also understand the need for alone time and there's no pressure if you're someone who likes to chill in their room for extended periods.
The flat has a very large shared lounge, a ~ridiculously~ large shared kitchen and access to a private residents garden (which is big enough to appear as green space on maps!). There is also a sweet little balcony that is perfect for catching the evening sun.
The flat is 5 minutes walk to Maida Vale station (bakerloo line) and from there it's only 12 mins on the tube to Oxford Circus. There are lots of coffee shops, pubs, and very nice restaurants within a 10 minute radius walking.
Now the important part: the room itself. It's not the largest room you can find in London but for the price and the space in the rest of the flat it's perfectly fine! It's very cosy and you can really make the space work for you and what you find important in a room. I (sophia) used to live in the room a few years ago and fit a double bed, desk, tv area, free standing toiletries unit and a little book nook without it feeling crowded.
The room will be furnished with a bed, mattress, and wardrobe but anything else you will have to bring with you. There's lots of storage space in the kitchen and we have some room in the lounge to put up some new shelves if we need them.
In the interest of honesty, the one downside of this room is that it faces the next house in the row of flats - meaning that although the room is light, you can't see much of the sky. But the rest of the house is so light, airy, and beautiful that it doesn't really matter too much. You will be sharing a bathroom with one other person.
A cleaner comes in every two weeks for an additional cost of £30 a month, and council tax + wifi comes out at around £50 each per month. Other bills vary but are your standard utility prices, split between three people.
The departing tenant has a cat, so we are willing to consider another indoor cat (no garden access).
