Description
My flatmate is moving out on the 28th of January so I am looking for someone to take her room in our cute flat. It is a small flatshare but I want it to be a home for both of us :-) Getting along in terms of house stuff is certainly important and so is being able to have some banter and a good vibe.
The room
Lovely double room with lots of storage space. The bed belongs to the current tenant but depending on her next place she might be willing to sell it. The floor to ceiling wardrobe will fit an extraordinary amount of things and keep it looking tidy. It is quiet and has a view of the ground floor flat's back garden.
The bathroom
Has a bath. A sink. A toilet. The usual. No surprises. All yours!
The flat
A spacious 2 bed flat with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a kitchen. By contract it is unfurnished and the sofa belongs to the flatmate who is moving so she's probably taking it with her. The kitchen is pretty much fully equipped.
The area
Muswell Hill is a beautiful residential area, safe to walk around with access to many great places nearby. Alexandra Palace with the best view of London and a year round ice rink as well as loads of concerts and events is a 10 minute walk away. Highgate Woods is also 15 minutes away. The Muswell Hill Broadway is 7 minutes away on foot and has all the shops you need 7 days a week, including a good selection of pubs, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, clothes, books, charity shops, hairdressers, cinema - you name it. There's a 24 hour PureGym as well, also 10 minutes away.
Personal faves include the Boogaloo, Planet Organic and the Sunday market at Ally Pally.
Transport links
24 hour bus routes include 134, 43 and 102. They all go to central or the nearest tube stations. Bounds Green station (Piccadilly line) is a 6 minute bus journey away and Highgate station or East Finchley station (Northern line) are both 10 minutes by bus. Both of these operate a night tube on the weekend.
W7 takes you to Finsbury Park in 15 minutes where you can get the Victoria line. This route operates a weekend night service too.
There are many more bus routes that take you further North or East.
Overground stations nearby include Alexandra Palace and Crouch Hill.
Hampstead is also a bus ride away.
Car parking
There is free on street parking. The A406 is barely a 5 minute drive from the flat. Petrol stations and excellent mechanics available just a couple roads further down.
Who you'll be living with
30 yo female events professional transitioning into HR/L&D. Laid back, creative, friendly and sociable. Love muay thai, cycling and making all sorts of things. Fairly active, somewhat of a foodie with lots of different interests. Considerate, clean and tidy. Happy to hang out but also respectful of alone time.
I've been living in Muswell Hill for almost 5 years and absolutely love it. I moved in this flat 4 months ago from just up the road and having seen many other places in North London I must say this flat is nothing short of a little gem.
Bills
On average around £150 each per month - EE broadband £30, Pure Planet for gas/electric (£40 summer, £60 winter) and then TV license and council tax.
Deposit
The landlord prefers to use a local estate agent for the contract and references so there will be some fees. The deposit is 6 weeks.
