I’m heading back to Cape Town at the end of July, so will sadly be looking to pass on my room to someone looking to call this place their home.
It’s a beautiful, light and airy double room with an ensuite, plenty of storage, and a desk for anyone working from home. The ensuite was recently refurbished and feels very modern.
The room comes fully furnished and can also come with pillows, a duvet and sheets, as I’ll be moving away and won’t be looking to keep them.
It’s a beautiful big house with nine bedrooms, but it still works really well if you’re someone who enjoys having your own space. You can dip in and out of socialising as much as you like. We’re not a house that stays up late partying every night, but everyone gets on really well and there’s a warm, sociable atmosphere.
The kitchen is huge and genuinely amazing. There’s loads of storage and plenty of space for everyone to cook without getting in each other’s way. I’ve never had to wait for a hob to become free.
There’s also a spacious garden with plenty of room to sit, eat and chat. There’s a built-in barbecue, a shed for storing larger items if needed, and even a bike rack.
All of the housemates are professionals, and the atmosphere of the house is really important to us. We want to make sure the new tenant feels like a good fit for the house, just as much as they’ll want to make sure the house is right for them.
Location-wise, we’re right by a Sainsbury’s Local and a great little micropub, the Shirker’s Rest. There’s also a big Sainsbury’s next to New Cross Gate station, and both New Cross Gate and New Cross station are within around a five-minute walk. There are great local food spots, pubs and venues in pretty much every direction.
The tenancy officially starts on 1 August, but you can move in from 28 July and just pay me the difference for those extra days.
We’re arranging viewings as soon as possible, as my move is fairly last minute. We’re keen to find someone quickly, while still making sure they’re the right fit for the house.
