Description

Hi, we are looking for a housemate for a super sunny double room on the first floor of a gorgeous 4 bedroom house that has 2 bathrooms and all the mod-cons (really, think USB plug sockets). There is also a small garden with a patio, lots of plants and some grass.

The house has a generous open plan lounge with a comfy sofa that turns into a sofa-bed for guests, and a large kitchen (with plenty of storage and two fridges) that opens in to the garden. There are 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub and the other with a shower). We also have a bike shed out in the front.

The room has plenty of storage (it comes fully furnished) and there is space for a desk and chair if you would like one. You would also have a storage section in in the kitchen and dedicated shelves in a shared fridge.

You would have access to all the mod-cons: washing machine, dishwasher, fancy oven (that can steam veggies), massive hob, big TV, super fast fibre broadband etc.

The house is in a very safe neighbourhood (we know and like our neighbors), close to public transport (short walk or bus ride to Plaistow, Prince Regent DLR, Custom House [for the Liz line], Canning Town, and Stratford) and shops. The night transport is quite good.

There is a Tesco close by as well as a number of cafes and some pubs. It's also walking distance to Newham Hospital, the local leisure centre (which has a pool, football pitch, classes and more) and some parks.

You would be sharing with two women and one man, all in their mid-30s. The housemates are very sociable, quite geeky (we enjoy board games, D&D, cos play etc) and are politically left-leaning. This is a LGBTQIA/fluid identity, trans and differently-abled friendly house. We also actively welcome people of colour.

There is also a friendly cat named Pudding that has the run of the house and all the bedrooms (although he usually sleeps in a specific housemate's room). The cat is used to being invited into rooms for cuddles, so being cat friendly is a MUST. Unfortunately he does not get along with other cats or dogs, so we cannot invite other pets into this house.

We would like the new person joining us to think of this as their home rather than a house - and treat it with consideration and respect. We respect privacy and don't expect you to always want company, but we would like to live with someone who wants to be part of the household.

We are hoping to find someone geeky who enjoys socialising together (think watching Netflix on the sofa with a glass of wine), board games nights or going to the pub - as well as the occasional house party) but also has their own interests and is respectful of communal space. We will have the occasional BBQ or invite people over for dinner or movie night. We would be happy for the new housemates to do the same and join in some house hangouts.

The room is 700 per month. Bills and a cleaner (twice a month) are paid for in addition to this. Deposit is one month's rent that will be held in a third party deposit scheme. Council tax is not included in the rent, is £128 per month and is payable divided amongst the housemates.

The room is available now.
