Description
Looking for someone to replace me at Charles Morton Court in Newington Green, a student accommodation.
The building is managed by Prestige Student Living, a private student accommodation company, and only lets to university-enrolled students.
The room is really spacious for a uni room and the ensuite is a great addition.
There's a storage space underneath the bed, as well as 4 shelves above the desk and 3 drawers inside the desk. There's a pinboard you can use to organise yourself or put up posters. The heating is excellent in this room.
The kitchen is a normal, shared kitchen that has some couches for socialising as well.
Other amenities include a common room downstairs across reception, as well as the laundry. We have a few benches outside by the smoking area too. You can't smoke inside the building though.
If you drive a bike or motorcycle, there might be space for you to leave it in the courtyard.
The best thing is the location: it's a lovely area perfect for runs and with great people. It's really safe and there's two nearby parks as well as a Leisure Centre and Gym next to Clissold Park. There's a bunch of restaurants and cafes, and most importantly, there's a Tesco right as you exit the building.
The flatmates are friendly and relaxed and that's the same with everyone else in the building (the whole building is student accommodation). It's very easy to make friends here, especially in the common room or outside by the benches.
Transit is quite easy, only 30 minutes by bus from Bloomsbury and King's Cross, and even less if you take the overground to Highbury and Islington and then switch. Buses here are really regular and they're not too crowded even in the morning rush.
Overall, it's a really great quality accommodation and having your own private, spacious space with an ensuite is not something to take for granted while at uni.
IMPORTANT: the contract is for a 52-week period (Sept. 2025-26) but paid until June of 2026. This means that monthly instalments are higher as the rest of the summer's rent is distributed across them. You can still reside in the summer as you still pay for it until June. For someone taking over from me, you can talk more with management about how you want to pay your instalments - management is really friendly and communicative. You can also rebook for the next year, with a discount as well!
(You're exempt from Council Tax as long as you provide evidence of Student enrolment to reception.)
