Description
accommodation details:
We live in a cozy semi-detached house in Norbury with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a lovely garden. The available room is 9’4 x 8’10 ft for £750 (excluding bills). If you’d like a bigger space, there’s a 13’ x 11’3 ft room for £800, as one of our flatmates is flexible and willing to switch rooms.
Council tax band: F
Transport links:
We’re just a 2-minute walk from the bus stop for the 250, which goes straight to Brixton Tube Station (Victoria Line). Norbury Overground Station is also a 5-10 minute walk away, offering trains to London Victoria, London Bridge, Clapham Junction, or Balham for connections to the Northern Line.
Local Amenities:
The nearest supermarket is a 10-minute walk, and if you want more options, there’s a large Tesco Extra and M&S if you’re willing to walk a bit further. We’re also near Norbury Park, Streatham Common, and Norwood Grove Park—great spots for a stroll or outdoor activities
Meet your flatmates :)
Sophie (she/they), 26, from Hong Kong, with a background in bespoke tailoring, but currently looking for other roles within the creative industry. She loves cooking and eating, playing mahjong, starting ambitious knitting projects and regretting it later, going on walks to decompress and cry, and enjoys pole dancing too.
Ant (they/them), 23, from Lebanon, is a trained barista who makes wonderful coffees. They like playing video games, watching cartoons with friends, being silly and sarcastic, and they have a soft spot for pigeons. They also have a nintendo switch, PS4, and record player for communal use.
Avanti (She/They) 25, from Mumbai, works in TV at the moment in the post production department. She loves slow paced films, sitcoms and Formula 1. Cooking and painting are the two things she loves doing at home and live music events when outdoors. She absolutely loves cats and will try to befriend them if seen in the area.
What living with us is like:
We are queer and neurodivergent girlies who put a lot of care in keeping our space tidy and cozy. It’s a shoes-off home, and while we’re still settling in, we plan to rotate chores weekly or every other week. We understand that life happens, so if you can’t manage chores one week, just let us know. The goal is for everyone to contribute equally and help keep the shared spaces clean by tidying up after themselves.
We enjoy hanging out together, whether it’s sharing our favourite TV shows, music, games, or just chatting, but we also respect each other’s need for personal space and downtime. We do love hosting friends and are happy for you to invite people over too—just give a heads-up in the group chat, especially if they’re staying over and work schedules are involved. You’re responsible for any guests you bring, so please be mindful of how they treat the space.
We share the cost of communal groceries (like oat milk, bananas) and household supplies (toilet paper, cleaning products) using Splitwise, so there’s always a clear record of shared expenses. If there’s something you don’t want to contribute to, just let us know! We’re mindful of everyone’s financial situation, but ideally, it’s good to settle balances before the next rent cycle. This system is based off trust and clear communication.
We also enjoy cooking for each other when we can, but there’s no pressure. If someone cooks, the general rule is that they don’t have to clean up afterward. Ingredients used for communal meals are shared on Splitwise too, and if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know so we can accommodate everyone.
Lastly, it’s important to mention that our household fully supports and pursues the liberation of Palestine from Israeli and Western imperialist occupation. If you do not share this view, this probably won’t be the right fit for you, so please do not reply to this ad in that case.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who’s into communal living, values cleanliness, reliability, good communication, and is considerate of others. We’re looking for someone who’s interested in long-term accommodation as the tenancy for the property is up to 2 years, but if you want to move out before then, please let us know as soon as you are able to.
We’re excited to meet you! Let us know if you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing x
