Description
Studio room available in a four bedroom house, near Norwood Junction next to Norwood Lakes.
The house is located in a quiet friendly cul-de-sac. The studio room is on the ground floor, it has a shower and a kitchenette area - microwave, fridge freezer, induction hob for two pans, extractor fan, kettle, toaster, kitchen cupboards, sink, pots and pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery and kitchen utensils. The room is clean and furnished with a single bed, bed side table (if needed, as there is also a shelf by the side of the bed), lamps, a spacious wardrobe, table and chair. We can provide bedding, and a winter duvet, so you do not need to purchase these items if you are coming from abroad. You will be able to have a broadband internet connection in the room. There is a toilet and sink in the hallway (it will only be used by the person renting the room). There is no room for extra furniture. You can bring your own small TV if you wish.
We only want to rent the room out to someone who would respect and value other people's property (as it is a family home), and someone who enjoys keeping their surroundings clean and tidy (as this makes it easier for us to rent the room out again when the rental period ends). Please also note that we would only rent out the studio room to someone who commutes to work five days a week, rather than someone who is self employed/working from home.
It takes us 12- 14 minutes to walk to the station. The fast trains to London Bridge take 12 minutes, and come regularly (4 every hour at peak times). Trains to Victoria take 25-30 minutes. You can also catch the overground train (Highbury & Islington to West Croydon line) from the station. There is a train from Norwood Junction stopping at Blackfriars, Farringdon, Kings Cross St Pancras, all the way to Bedford. Also a train from Norwood Junction to Gatwick Airport. Another train direct to Brighton. There is a 68X bus that takes you to Kings College London (in Waterloo, then to Russell Square). It is between a 35 to 45 minute journey as it is a bus that does not stop at all stops. That bus stop is approximately a 7 minute walk from the house. The house is also within walking distance (20 -25 minutes) from the centre of Crystal Palace, which has many lovely pubs with live music, art events, a sports and leisure centre and pool, a great variety of restaurants, cosy cafes, and quirky little shops. There is also an amazing farmer's market. The bus stop taking you to Crystal Palace is a 2 minute walk from the house, and the buses come regularly and take about 5- 8 minutes.
Two women already living in the house. Philomena is a complementary therapist & health & wellbeing teacher working in central London, and Maria is an Occupational Therapist (self employed, working from home). We are Indian and Irish, from London. We have had many lodgers in the past. We are friendly, but we keep to ourselves too.
All bills included in the rental price (council tax, water, TV licence, broadband, gas, electric). Free parking space available at the front of the studio room/house.
Please provide two references - this is essential before we make the final agreement for you to move in (for example - a work reference, a university reference, or a previous landlord reference). We would also like to see your passport or other official photo identification (please bring this with you when you come to view the room). We would require £700 as a deposit to secure the room once we have seen your photo ID and the two references.
Let us know as soon as possible if you are interested. Only non-smokers and clean, tidy, friendly people please. We would appreciate it if you could please tell us a little bit about yourself when you contact us. The room will be available in the new year.
