I live in a lovely Victorian terraced house and have a quiet loft bedroom and private bathroom available to let. The room has a 4 poster bed, under bed storage drawers, a tallboy chest of drawers and a clothes rail. There is a large window in the room, which overlooks the treetops of Nunhead Cemetery.
I let this room with sole use of the adjoining bathroom, which has a walk-in shower and plenty of storage space. With a landing outside of the room, it's a very private part of the house.
ALL BILLS ARE INCLUDED IN THE RENT.
I will provide you with storage in the kitchen and you would have use of it whenever you need. I cook most evenings but am very easy-going about sharing the space and of course give lodgers a space in the fridge, etc. I do the communal space cleaning, but I ask that you clean your room and bathroom.
The house is close to Nunhead rail station, Zone 2, which has links to Victoria and Blackfriars and we are also about a 15-20 minute walk from Brockley Station, which has many great connections to Shoreditch, etc. There are a number of local buses which go nearby to us and the P12 passes directly in front of our house..
The house is of a good size. and the top of the house is very private. I keep busy with my work as an artist and art tutor, with 2 of the other rooms currently being used as studios. My daughter is 23 and living at home and working locally. She and I share the bathroom on the first floor, where both of our rooms are located. We have had lodgers on and off over the years and enjoyed getting to know them and sharing some conversation, but we also respect and appreciate that you may want privacy, etc.
I will ask for proof of ID/ right to rent, a reference and a security deposit of £500, which will be safely held with the Deposit Protection Service until the end of the tenancy. I do consider short lets (3 months minimum), so please get in touch if your think the room would suit your needs, though I would prefer to find someone who will stay at least 6 months. Send me a message with as much information about your situation as possible, such as your profession, why you think our house might be a good fit, etc., and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
