Looking for a flatmate in a 2-bed Old Street flat

Hi everyone, I'm looking for someone to join me in my 2-bed apartment in Old Street.

About the flat

The flat is located on the 4th floor in Newland Court, about a 1-2 min walk from Old Street station. This makes it really easy to commute from, and if you're working in places like Liverpool Street or Bank you could very easily walk to work to avoid using the tube. In terms of shops, you've got M&S, Coop and Aldi literally downstairs, and a couple of Tesco Express stores around 5-10 mins away. There are also plenty of pubs and cafes around with Shoreditch being very close. When it comes to gyms, you've got a good number of options with Energie Fitness, Gymbox, F45 and the upcoming UFC London Gym being very close to the flat.

The kitchen comes with a Neff hob and oven, Siemens microwave, and an Ikea dishwasher. It also has a lot of cupboards and storage space for utensils and cutlery, so you are more than welcome to bring your own stuff.

The living room has a double-seater sofa with another 2 armchairs, a book-shelf and a wall-mounted smart TV (with Neflix and Amazon Prime, but I'm also considering putting up a Plex server). I'm also thinking of adding a coffee table to it in the next few days.

The bathroom features Grohe fittings and a large shower. The washing machine is also located in the bathroom and also has a drier option, but there are also dryer racks that can be used instead.

The bedroom comes with a double bed and a mirrored wardrobe. The current pictures feature a 1.4m x 0.7m desk, which still leaves plenty of space in the room. If you're worried about the noise from what feels like a very central location, the bedroom is located on the side of the building that is facing the communal gardens, so you won't be disturbed by any noise while trying to sleep/work.

About me

I'm a 24 year old software engineer originally from the Transylvania region of Romania. I came to the UK in 2019 and before moving to London last year, I lived in the most beautiful city this country has to offer: Coventry 😀. I tend to go into the office every day for my work which means that you will have the kitchen to yourself from Mon to Fri. I usually come back from work around 5:30pm after which I may head out for a couple of hours or so to practice one of my hobbies, but I'm always open to having a chat/dinner/watch a film with the person that I live with. From Thursday evening on until the end of the weekend I might be out during the evenings or at night, but I always try to keep quiet when I come back.

I'm a pretty clean and organised flatmate, but nothing too strict and I'm quite relaxed as long as the place doesn't become a mess. I'm expecting the person that lives with me to be similar in terms of this, so I won't tolerate things like not cleaning after yourself after using the communal areas, leaving greasy/dirty kitchen countertops, leaving plates around for days in the kitchen, slamming doors, leaving the lights open in unused areas, walking around with dirty shoes in the house. Hopefully all of these seem like common sense to you.

In terms of my hobbies/passions/things that I like, in a somewhat particular order they are: football (watching and playing the occasional 5-a-side, I'm also at the Emirates for Arsenal's home games every other week or so), cinema, bodybuilding (watching and some casual lifting), f1, pro-wrestling, american football, darts, MMA, reading, etc. As mentioned above, I also enjoy going out on the weekend, but I'm definitely more of a pub person than a club one.

About you

Ideally we'd have something in common, but I value tidiness and organisation above everything else, so I don't mind if you don't share any of my interests as long as you're a nice, easygoing and clean person. I also don't mind if you have a pet, but there will be a small monthly fee (around £10) if you do have one. The moving date is quite short notice, from the 31st of August, but I can be slightly flexible. The tenancy is up to 12 months and you're free to leave at any point during it, but ideally you'd give me a bit of notice so I can find someone to move in.
