Lovely Ensuite Homeshare a few minutes from Old St

This room is being advertised on behalf of a friendly lady in her 90s. She is seeking someone to share her home at a low cost in exchange for some light help around the home.

In return for low-cost accommodation of £240 pcm, she would like approximately 10 hours of support each week. Generally, tasks would include helping with shopping and putting away any ad hoc deliveries, light housework, occasionally preparing a simple meal or warming up meals that have already been prepared, reading the TV guide or the Guardian crossword to the householder due to her deteriorating eyesight, the occasional accompaniment on outings if your schedule allows, and sleeping overnight five nights per week (support is not required overnight, just presence in the home).

The home is bright, spacious and set over two floors in a lovely location in Old street, close to shops, the high street and excellent transport links. You will have a furnished double bedroom with your own private en-suite shower room and toilet, providing a good degree of privacy.

The ideal sharer would be female (as requested by the householder), 21+, friendly, kind, compassionate, tidy and caring. Someone who is patient, enjoys interesting conversation and has an interest in current affairs would be particularly well suited. Someone who does not work late long hours or night shifts would be preferred in order to fit in with the Homeshare duties comfortably, as the householder enjoys a regular routine.

The householder is independent in many aspects of daily life and completes many tasks herself. She receives support from carers with personal care, cleaning and regular shopping but is looking for some additional practical support, companionship and the reassurance of someone being in the home overnight.

As part of our Homesharing scheme, you will need to have or apply for a recent DBS check and provide two references who have known you for at least a year. You will also need to complete an application form which you can download/ complete on our website.

The only fees payable are our monthly fee of £240 pcm (plus an additional deposit of £240). A DBS fee of £50 is required and will be requested if you are successful. The householder is also seeking a £30 monthly contribution to bills.
