About the flat:

Located right next to the Oval cricket grounds, you’ll have access to a renowned balcony that looks directly into the stadium (shared by the block of apartments). This is the largest of the 53 flats, set on the top floor with 4 bedrooms and 2 balconies (one private, one shared) split across 3 levels.

The available bedroom is large and easily fits a double with plenty of space (it comes furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, bedside tables & bookshelf) - it also has sizeable built in wardrobes for plenty of storage. You also have your own en-suite.

The flat itself is pretty unique in size and layout. It’s very spacious and light and due to being spread across 3 levels, you have plenty of space to yourself despite sharing with 3 others.

The kitchen is a decent size, with a large gas stove & oven and dishwasher.

If you work from home, there will be a small office available on the top of the 3 floors, by the private balcony.

You’ll be sharing with:

Craig - 33 year old lawyer working in the city. He’s essentially Dobby and comes with the flat, given his 8 year tenure. Often out working but loves to travel in his spare time and is very sociable.

Moss - 28 year old educated Essexman working as an Accountant in the city. Works from home a few days a week in one of the two office spaces. Often busy with social plans & loves watching sports, but is always up to hang out when he’s around.

Tom - 26 year old wealth manager from Dublin. Tom works in the city 3+ days per week and in his room (adjacent to yours) the remaining days. Often out at the gym or with friends but again, super easygoing and up to hang out.

Requirements:

We’re looking for a young professional (mid 20s-early 30s) who’s sociable, clean and respectful - **must have experience living in share houses**

Generally it’s pretty rare that all 4 of us are in the flat at the same time, often you may have the space to yourself. We like to have guests round (girlfriends, friends etc) and host bbq’s in the summer. We’re looking for someone that’s easygoing and has their own things going on, but is up for socialising or going for a beer when everyone’s around.

Our cleaner is amazing, but we take turns with basic stuff like emptying the dishwasher, taking out the bins and keeping the common areas tidy.

Important information:

Currently the room is £1,177 per month (this could potentially change as the lease is renewing in September, but we’re hoping this stays the same)

Bills are split between us equally, typically this comes to £150-200pp per month

We also have a cleaner who comes every 2 weeks, she does an amazing job cleaning the flat (including your bedroom & ensuite) this is around £37 per month for your share

We split general house supplies (mostly cleaning stuff etc for the kitchen)

There are several huge blocks of new apartments being built next door which sadly has obscured our private balcony views. The majority of the heavy stuff has been finished, but it can still be noisy at times. The available room is set back furthest away from this, so it’s not noticeable most days.

Location:

While I’d never heard of Oval beforehand or had a desire to live there. I’ve really loved living here the past 3 years. I’m moving out as I’m getting an apartment with my girlfriend. Though I’m not a cricket fan, the atmosphere from the stadium is nice (and not too loud) - the games aren’t on too frequently.

You’re 3 minutes from a big Tesco, 5 minutes from Oval station (northern line that runs 24 hrs on the weekend), 8 ish minutes to Vauxhall (Overground and the Victoria Line)

There’s a massive PureGym 7 minutes away which I’ve used for years. And a few CrossFit spots by Vauxhall which Craig goes to.

We’re surrounded by decent pubs in all directions and 2 nice parks (including Vauxhall City Farm). If you want to go for a nice walk / run, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament are 15 minutes away, and Battersea Power Station and back is a nice 5km route.
